The front desk staff was amazing. The first room they gave us had a funny smell, we are not people to complain but we thought we would ask if we could possibly change rooms. Without hesitation they switched our room and I must say I think we were given the best room!! It was nice and roomy and our view was amazing from the third floor!! Also the property was so beautifully decorated for Christmas. The oak trees are majestic. We have stayed at the White House before and we will definitely be back again! Thanks for a wonderful stay!

The room we got had a view of the bay and the parking lot. It was nice to look at the view when you wake up in the morning. The room itself was big enough for the three of us. Room and toilet were both clean and sanitized. The curtains were automatic making it so easy to shut it down when you need to. There were also lots of restaurants along the lobby and the casino which made it very convenient for us and no need to go out for a quick bite. Price of the food in these restaurants were also affordable and tasted good.

The Golden Nugget is also a Casino, nice how in the Casino you could choose to be in the Smokers or No Smoking area. We as smokers enjoyed there was also inside place we were allowed to smoke and do find it important there is also No smoking area for people who really dislike the smoking (very different as e.g. in Vegas were you can smoke everywhere in Casino). Although we couldn't enjoy it (we had a in between stop in Biloxy) there was a nice pool area and we could see how other were enjoy it

Pool is awesome! Hot tubs are great. We brought a few beers to pool area discreetly. Get a room in platinum tower. Room not made up every day must ask for fresh towels. Restaurants on site a great. Walmart near by if you have a car otherwise gas station across road for snacks.good toiletries in shower. Casion gives free drinks to gamblers

Biloxi is a beach town that just has not been discovered. The beach was clean but not busy. The restaurants in and around Biloxi mirror the food popular in New Orleans and is terrific. Nearby towns of Ocean Springs, Gulfport and Long Beach present fun areas to poke around and shop.

At first glance, Hattiesburg doesn’t seem to offer much.

At first glance, Hattiesburg doesn’t seem to offer much. But, look again, there’s a nice zoo with a water park, museums, and other stuff. The food is usually great and has that homemade quality. The traffic is nonexistent so, that’s a plus.

If you have blue state plates like I do, prepare yourself...

If you have blue state plates like I do, prepare yourself for police harassment. I have never in my life been pulled over for going 4 miles under the speed limit and then told not to come back and try Florida instead. Apparently they aren't as hard up for tourism as they claim.

We did not stay in Tupelo as we were passing through to Oklahoma. Stopped to sleep and hit the road early. The cost of the room as high since we did nothing but sleep. I am sure the city is delightful but we did not see it

I'm assuming there are parts of Olive Branch that are nicer than the specific area the Hotel Desoto is located in. We went to South Haven which was very nice - just were not good eating establishments directly around Hotel Desoto.

Known for its Mississippi River history and of course the...

Known for its Mississippi River history and of course the siege during the Civil War. A large number of museums my favourite being The Old Court House , but also the River boat { free} Downtown isnt big so easily walkable there are dozens of places to park . There are several local food options and of course national chain eateries . The battlefield and USS Cairo can consume a day . I had no safety concerns even after dark .

There are parts of Meridian that feel unsafe.

There are parts of Meridian that feel unsafe. I've been there 4 times now. Since I'm only staying one night at a time, I don't feel like spending a lot on the hotel. I just need a place to rest and then get back on the road. It might be worth spending a little more if it meant I was in a safer part of town.

Take what you need. Vending machines are high and not much in the way of choice. I was traveling across country with a full car,dogs and things I was moving with, so I didn't really think about anything. They do have coffee pots for sale, but I was there just one night.

The staff helped with a difficult situation, since my original reservation was not transmitted to the hotel. Every person we encountered was very courteous and pleasant. The bed was comfortable and the room was very quiet. We enjoyed the dinner ( surprise! ) - it was basic fare but tasty ( the red jacket mashed potatoes were awesome!) and the breakfast was delicious (creamy, buttery grits!). Overall, a very nice stay, convenient to I-55, clean and comfy!
