It’s exceptional. We were feeling welcomed and at home from the first second on. Denise made the most delicious breakfast we ever had with ingredients directly from the garden and Rob planned our whole next week in a split second with awesome recommendations. The dogs were the cherry on the cake. This place is a real gem and was definitely on the top three of all 13 accommodations we had with a strong first place regarding value for money. We will definitely come again regardless of the detour we have to take when we are back in SA. Thank you so much for everything!

The staff were efficient and friendly. Sundays Karoo is just off the main street and within a 150 yards from an excellent restaurant which was ideal as I have limited mobility. The area is quiet residential and we weren’t disturbed by traffic noise. The breakfast is wonderful. The stoop in the garden is very pleasant…..but move before 5pm if the mosquitoes like you! The hosts are exceptional and couldn’t do more for you to make your stay enjoyable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you all

It’s centrally located, in a quiet area! The host is amazing, she checked on us throughout our trip to ensure we arrived safely as we made a rather late check in. The place is just charming

Fabulous room and lovely pool. Lovely quiet setting. Julia our host was wonderful and her breakfast exceptional. Loved the Camdeboo and the Valley of Desolation which were only 10 mins drive. Walking distance from restaurants in the evening.

1. Early morning or evening walk in the Valley of Desolation is a must do activity - 10 minutes drive from the town to park gates. 2. The fossil museum is fascinating, and explains how the topography of South Africa was formed. It houses the world-famous Rubidge Fossil Collection, the biggest collection of unique species in the world. https://fossilcentre.co.za/rubidge-fossil-collection/

Quaint town, beautiful to walk around.

Quaint town, beautiful to walk around. Tourism was quiet but we had a very enjoyable experience. We will be back. I love that it has farm almost in town, it has that old fashioned back to basics feel. The scenery is spectacular.

The town has a long history and it is very well worthwhile exploring the sights in town as well as the nature reserves nearby. The Valley of Desolation is amazing. Plenty of good places to eat in town. On Sundays the town is very quiet.

Complete break from city life in the best possible way.

Complete break from city life in the best possible way. I can't comment on the restaurants as we chose to braai - I have no words to describe the night sky. The stars were breathtaking. The Owl House is a must see. Sadly we ran out of time for the fossil museum and the Stone People. We will definitely be back.

It was easy to find the accommodation.

It was easy to find the accommodation. Graaff - Reinet is a must visit town! I found the staff at 4 Rothman street B & B to be professional, friendly and helpful in particlar due to the fact that I arrived very late. Unfortunately it was only overnight stay. I will visit Graaf - Reinet again to explore more of the town and surrounds.

Time seems to have stopped in Nieu Bethesda.

Time seems to have stopped in Nieu Bethesda. It is refreshing and humbling to see how simply people live and yet how full their lives are - there is colour and mystery and warmth and friendliness everywhere you go. A few days here reminds one of what is important - goodness and kindness and faith and gratitude and relationships... and GREAT food!
