She prepared a nice 3-course dinner, and we had some great wine with it. You can tell that she does this with a lot of love and passion for hosting. Very friendly staff from Asanda, to Anneline to Lindo and everyone, who gave us a great game drive. My wife also had a soothing massage with the lovely lady who looks after that department. Of course as dog lovers, we loved the black lab (forgot her name) and Zazu the cute lady Jack Russell, who both kept an eye on our movements but never encroached! Obviously cleverly trained! Finally Anneline and Liza were kind enough to arrange to get my wife's bracelet she left in the room, returned to us at some point, which we really appreciate this thoughtfulness. Food was always great (thanks Maureen!) and location pretty handy for the Addo Elephant Park entrance. Our room was wonderful. All in all, a highly recommended place to spend a tranquil few days where you feel very close to nature, but very comfortable and cared for!

We were lucky enough to spend two nights in this wonderful, special accommodation. We stayed in the Zulu house, which is a larger one, and absolutely loved it. The furnishings are very well thought out and simply unique. Staff at the accommodation are very welcoming, over the top friendly and helpful. The restaurant is great, the safari offered there is highly recommended and the whole place is just super cute. if you would like to spend a night away from the mainstream hotels, we highly recommend Addo African homes.

When I looked where to stay at Addo I wanted a place that maximized the wildlife without me having to drive anywhere and Gorah did exactly that. We sat at the hotel all day and we experienced the most amazing wildlife at the waterhole. And at the same time Gorah staff exemplary in their service and kindness. The food superb right down to my wife’s diabetic requirements at all times and we were made to feel that nothing was too much.

We had an amazing stay at an amazing lodge. In particular: great food, spectacular views and super well organized safaries in the mornings and afternoons. From the moment you arrive at the gates, you can fully relax as everything is well taken care of. Barefoot is a reasonable size reserve accessed off a 25km...
Barefoot is a reasonable size reserve accessed off a 25km dirt road that can be a little bumpy in places. A 4x4 is recommended particularly if it rains. We opted for a private transfer to and from the airport and Caleb our driver was just a master at navigating the rough roads - well worth the £180 for the transfer (he also took us on a game drive on a neighbouring reserve close to Addo, organised by Barefoot and he was just incredible, so knowledgable and able to track down the elusive rhino - we would seriously recommend). The Barefoot reserve doesn’t have the big 5 and the 3 Barefoot elephants are cared for by dedicated keepers who spend all their days walking with them as they roam around the reserve. At night the elephants are housed in a very large protected paddock to ensure their safety. You will see giraffe, wilderbeast, zebra as a minimum - they come in herds to graze around the villa of an evening which is an incredible sight. The views from the villa are breathtaking as it sits on its own on a hilltop. There’s good WiFi, no TV (which for us was a good thing), beds were so comfy and the staff - Olivia and Soso just made our stay perfect 🥰

We liked the venue. The environment is beautiful. The road was a challenge, but we knew that we had to come with a 4x4 vehicle and the men knew how to drive on a 4x4 route. It was raining when we arrived and it was cold, but everybody should know not to travel without a jacket.

We have been to Addo probably 40 times and just never get enough of it, and once again on rare occassions, saw a lioness up close. As always there were plenty of Buffalo, Elephant, Zebra, Red Hardebeest, Warthog, Kudu, and oh! a Hyena!

Addo was lovely, and the map was easy to navigate.
Addo was lovely, and the map was easy to navigate. I could easily do two days in the Addo and it's full of surprises. Make sure to go to the bathroom at the beginning, because toiletbreaks are far inbetween. Make sure your devices are fully charged and you have backup, because you'll be taking a lot of pics. Currently the roadworks to Addo makes it a longer drive, but all goo.
