United KingdomWe loved the quirkiness of the hotel that was its real charm. The art on the walls and all the decor had real charm and character.
There is a proper bar area where on one evening they had a very good pianist playing. You definitely get the feeling that the hotel is something of a hub for the village and community and a lot of activity centres around it.
Some of the rooms are bigger and nicer than others, and we were able to change ours to a nicer more spacious
one.
Staff were very accommodating
and helpful and we’re able to advise and arrange lots for us to do- on that don’t miss a dip in the local fresh water river - a wonderful start to our day!
Breakfast was really delicious with lots of variety.
Garden and pool area was very pretty and a lovely place to relax as well.

The pool was well kept and maintained. We could just drop the keys in the box when we left. The rooms have aircon which was a life saver during the December heatwaves.

The Chalet was perfect and had everything we required. The best part was the braai station, right outside, with plenty of wood available. The surroundings were beautiful and tranquil, and we saw many zebras and other bucks walking around. The on-site restaurant had really great food and drinks.
If you'd like to self cater, the kitchen is well set up. All you need is the groceries and braai meat to see you through your stay. Accessing shops once you are there is not an easy trip, as the lodge is truly in the middle of nowhere... which is wonderful.

It far exceeded our expectations, it’s very well run , nicely luxurious, excellent staff and we had some good game drives and were fortunate to see a Cheetah, there are only 3 on the property ( bigger than Singapore) no lion sightings which was a disappointment but nature doesn’t always perform to order. Some excellent interactions with a the elephants.
The food was good and from the decking we saw Kudo, Gazelles, Baboons, a Lion was spotted and a Brown Hyena.

An idyllic place in beautiful gardens with ostrich and so much more. We stayed in a tent (our first time 'glamping') and didn't expect much. We were so happy to have the best night sleep in our three weeks of travelling around SA.
My wife was very amused as I used the outside, private, shower......she opted for the enormous bath tub.
The breakfast was fabulous too.

My daughter boked this place for us.
This is the most wonderful place me and my husband has ever been at. The staff, the food, the house and the wine was excellent. We loved the stay at Mymerings. The staff took care of us in the most loving way. Thank you so much! We will be back and can´t wait to see you all again!

The accommodation was clean, neat and well appointed.
The breakfast spread was excellent with a big variety to choose from.
The restaurant was the cherry on top. It has a lovely atmosphere, and the food was top notch. The ostrich burgers were huge!
The location is excellent, not too far from Oudtshoorn and close enough to numerous attractions.

Oudtshoorn is a wonderful place to spend a couple of days.
Oudtshoorn is a wonderful place to spend a couple of days. There is so much to see and do. The accommodation in Oudtshoorn, is generally excellent. The restaurants are very good, and the Game viewing is exceptional. The town itself has lots of character and charm.

Unfortunately, we were there on a Monday and most restaurants close at 17:00 on a Monday. However, our host recommended we have dinner at the Karoo Art Hotel with a choice of fine dining or pub dinner. We choose pub dinner, which was delicious. Beautiful trail walks can be found around the farms. All-in-all a wonderful trip.

The only negative is the number of young coloured men asking to do and be useful when theyo are not required to do anything. One feels badgered.

We should have called the farm manager from Barrydale,...
We should have called the farm manager from Barrydale, because when we arrived at the locked farm gate, we found there was no reception. We couldn't reach him, and it was soon getting dark, so we had to keep driving until we got signal again, which only took five minutes. Wann, the manager, was soon there and opened the gate to paradise for us... remote, behind two other farms, we were able to spend comfortable days in this Karoo resort. Wann was always available, and one evening his wife cooked us a delicious meal. A river, a hot tub, an ice bath, peace and quiet, and an endless sky—what more could you want? This is the place to be for anyone needing a break. For more romance, under the stars, bring candles and reading lamps.

Uniondale was the centre point of our journey distance wise - so convenient . Also we had not been there before so it made an interesting stop over. Scenery was stunning and the road excellent. Hotel built in 1832 (I understand). Uniondale is about 14 kms off main road and entry and exit are through two mountain passes which were most attractive.

From the main road it looks like just another dusty deserted Karoo town. What a pleasant surprise on turning off into the little town. We had a superb breakfast at @Stuff and met some interesting locals. The town is experiencing a resurgence and is intersting, well maintained and spotlessly clean.

It was so relaxing. Great pool. Room had everything you needed Lovely staff and it was also lovely to relax at night and have dinner at the hotel. Food was to our liking. Enjoyed our stay so much we extended it an extra night.

Lovely quiet country village.
Lovely quiet country village. Interesting little shops & great 2nd hand bookshop. Great walks/hikes & excellent restaurants (highly recommend "Mud"). Lots of interesting history.
