Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

EstoniaIn a room nr 20 the sun umbrella was permanently fixed to the balcony rails, so a view was not as good as it could be with this umbrella movable. Both rooms we had (nr 20 and 18), were without a kettle, hair dryer and shampoo. It would be much better stay with all this things mentioned. But we were prepared for this in advance. Mountain view was disturbed firstly with a fixed umbrella, and with a bright blue film, covering , I think, a vegetable garden of a neighbouring real estate. There were actually no hooks on the walls in the room nr 18, in the room and in the bathroom, so impossible to hang wet clothes. In general about Grainau: public transport overcrowded, especially at the end of the day. I cannot imagine, how a high season looks like here. The region has a permanent shortage of bus drivers. I would not recommend a trip to Eibsee after 10 am, and avoid traveling with the last bus and train from there, only young and very healthy people can drive in this fully packed transport. There were no extra bus despite of a crowd. Zugspitszbad Grainau was closed, when I came there at 7.30 pm, although it should be opened until 9 pm.
excellent breakfast, each day something new was added to a rich menu, it is not an ordinary habit, in my practice for the first time. everything was tasty and fresh. hotel has an excellent location, just a few steps from the bus nr 9840 stop, Grainau Postgasse. Bus timetable- one drive per hour. If you have booked a hotel in Grainau, the Eibsee bus is free of charge, but then you must pay for a ride in Garmisch-Partenkirchen ortsbus. Hotel is located on foot of the mountain, excellent view, especially from the room nr 20, which has a balcony.

GermanySome of the bathrooms did not have a radiator to dry towels or clothes. This is rather a suggestion from us and not a negative thing.
The property is easily accessible by car and the entrance to the parking lot clearly marked so that you can find it even when you arrive by nighttime. Parking spaces are always available. We didn't need a reservation. The hotel is within walking range of many restaurants. You can find not only traditional German cuisine, but also Croatian, Italian, Balkan, with good food at good prices. But make sure you make a reservation for dinner as soon as they open as it might be difficult to find a table on the spot. The property is also within walking range of the Grainau station of the Zugspitzbahn. The hotel is kept by a family of square-shooting mountain people that are friendly and welcoming. The hotel personnel was very present during our stay and they were always available when we had questions. The breakfast buffet offers a wide variety of very fresh, local products, as well as freshly baked German bread buns. The rooms and bathrooms are quite small and simply furnished. However, the hotel is clean, warm, well maintained and offers very good value for money. Also, occasionally, the reception area is visited by a very cute and clean family cat.

United KingdomThere was nothing that was missing or below standard.
A wonderful buffet breakfast with lots of choice. It was especially good that an early ‘pre-packed’ breakfast could be provided, to enable me to do longer walks from the hotel. Superb views and a room with everything I needed.

SpainWe were happy with everything, however, here are some things that could improve...The television in the room is very small, there is only 1 socket on the bedside, you need to choose whether to charge your phone or plug in the nightlamp, curtains should be darker, no amenities in the shower, only handsoap.
The hotel has a great location to explore the area, the rooms are big, some with balcony, beautiful view from the rooms, breakfast was good, however, no pastries.

NorwayI liked the view over the mountains. In a nice and silent area. Short way to restaurants and the train to Zugspitze. Just 6- 7 kilometers from Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

United StatesTwo pillows in a room will be good, even if only one person inhabits! But never mind who comes to Garmisch to sleep!
Beautifully located in the foothills of the Alps, you wake up the view of the mountains, sound of chirping birds and cattle bells. Serene. Not too far from Eisbee lake the most popular attraction, a 15 min bus ride away. Hosts were caring, always had a welcoming smile, and personable, I liked little things like breakfast tables had every guests’ name on it, feels like each person is individually cared for. Breakfast spread was great, even for me - a vegetarian. Very reasonably priced and they give you a Zugspitze pass which will cover all your bus and train rides during the stay as well as some events!

United StatesMy pillow wasn't great, but I'm someone who enjoys hard or foam pillows over soft pillows to fold as desired, so this may just be my preference.
The breakfast was excellent with different variations to the buffet each day. I enjoy eggs so the farm fresh still warm boiled eggs were delightful.

United StatesThe room description said there were outlets on the side of the bed, maybe in the other rooms but not ours. We used the extra blankets from the cabinet, and one of them clearly hadn't been washed. All in all it was nice.
The breakfast was nice, everyday was something different, loved the homemade marscapone, it was delicious! Only one day they served scramble eggs and bacon which made my husband very happy, other than that day he only ate bread, butter and jelly. The bed was comfortable. Rooms are very small. Only hand soap provided, so ensure you have toiletries.

South AfricaA better quality towel would have been appreciated. Please seperate rooms whereone can smoke from non smoking. The room next to me was a smoking room : very unpleasant.
Real old school values in this hotel. Excellent breakfast -nice and fresh. Bus stop right outside hotel -so convenient. At the foot of the mountains the Alpine glocke and cows provided soothing peaceful background music. Very thoughtfulto provide a plate, knife and botle opener in the room.
