Given how reasonable Miguel’s prices are for such large and exotic rooms, the only possible reason why Casa Delmonte might not appeal are the absence of the usual big-hotel facilities such as in-house breakfast, swimming pool and spa. But if it’s privacy and charm you’re after, you’d be hard pressed to do better.

Casa Delmonte will compel you to re-examine what makes a hotel truly great. Privacy is off the scale; with only seven enormous guest rooms/suites sharing its sprawling interior, numerous other antique-filled rooms separating its guest rooms, and breakfast taken outside in Palma old town, two whole days passed before we encountered another guest. Only an isolated villa could give you more privacy. The rambling garden was a haven of peace and quiet, and the perfect place for aperitives, courtesy of the abnormally well stocked and surprisingly inexpensive honesty bar. Numerous reviews have mentioned the beautiful antiques (collected and curated by the current owner Miguel and his family before him) but they’re not just for show; you sleep on them, sit on them, and put your clothes in them. They enhance the ambience of Casa Delmonte like no other venerable old hotel we’ve stayed in before. Housekeeping was text-book; very clean and tidy, but sufficiently mindful to leave the room’s contents and our personal effects exactly as we had arranged them. The whole of the old town, including the epic Catedral-Basílica de Santa María, the adjoining Palace and the glamorous port are within easy walking distance. For breakfast, you can’t beat the St Cristo bakery, just south of Placa Major.

It’s incredibly beautiful with each bedroom having unique decoration. The hotel is full of gorgeous antiques and has everything you could want for a relaxing, comfortable stay. It’s our favourite hotel. At night we loved to sit looking out at the lovely garden whilst sipping on a gin and tonic ( or 3)

An amazing, spacious historical home in the middle of Palma. It was like living in our own very special apartment. We loved the location and the fact it was an almost silent refuge from the hustle and bustle of Palma street life. The garden courtyard was an added bonus!!

Room sizes were large. The decor is decorated with antiques that are interesting and give an air of decadence.. There is an outdoor garden where you can sit and enjoy a glass of wine in the afternoon.

It is a historic Manor House located in the city centre. Everything is walking distance. The best part was we got a free upgrade as we were on our minimoon! The furniture and interiors are exceptional, feels like a museum. The owner was very helpful. We arrived at the hotel around 2:30am and he gave us a warm welcome even at such a late hour. Miguel left us a complimentary bottle of champagne in the room.

It’s perfect

Incredible hotel, highlight of our trip to Palma. There are too many good things to list. Super unique - walking through the hotel is mesmerising. The room was elegant and spacious, clean, really comfortable bed and a great shower. There were so many thoughtful details, like umbrellas put out if it was raining, free snacks/drinks in the room, free bikes. The host was incredibly kind and helpful. And the courtyard/garden is so peaceful. Would absolutely love to return.

This was the most memorable hotel we have ever stayed at. It was absolutely fantastic and such an interesting place . The furniture, antiques and art work were of very high quality. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, the attention to detail was outstanding. We spent 6 days there and were very sorry to leave. If you get the chance to visit I recommend you take it. You won’t be disappointed.

Beautiful, traditional Spanish house situated in the old town. The rooms are huge, comfortable and beautifully decorated with lots of thoughtful touches. Along with access to a garden and lots of indoor and terrace seating. It was ideal to explore Palma and then retreat to a peaceful and relaxing space.
