Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomHad to park opposite hotel for short time to take luggage in and then park at Alhambra Carpark, but that was because of Main Street location and a ‘minor grievance’. No hotel bar/cafe area or outside area to sit, but again, a ‘minor grievance’
Location ‘a lada’ de Alhambra, wonderful. The room was spacious, quirky and a massive bed with four fab pillows. Breakfast was very satisfactory and the waiter was helpful and efficient. Our welcome at reception was ‘extremely welcoming’ and Pablo was super efficient and amiable and helpful. Recommended dinner at the sister hotel, Hotel Washington Irving, minutes down the hill and that was wonderful - cool garden eating area and super attentive Javier.

United KingdomHotel is a bit jaded and could do with a refresh. Our room was the same, but clean and quiet with comfy big bed. The place is dead at night, no bar facilities for late night drink, but that means it's very quiet overall. There are nearby restaurants, but these were closed in May when we visited. Breakfast is fine, on a par to four star hotels. Toilet on flushing can be heard in Norway.
Great location for Alhambra, easy and picturesque downhill walk to town, best getting bus or taxi (6 euros) to return. Staff very friendly and helpful. No 32 bus also takes you to the famous viewpoint overlooking Alhambra (Mirador de St Nicolas).

United KingdomNothing, it was all good.
I loved the location, just a couple of minutes walk further up the same hill that the Alhambra is on. From the first-floor breakfast room, you can watch the coaches bringing early-morning visitors to the famous site, it's that close. The quid pro quo is that you are not in the actual city centre, so I used to stroll down the hill to get my evening meal, then get the bus back later. Room was absolutely fine, with a great view, and the public areas were very spacious and traditional, with lots of marble on the floors and walls.

South AfricaThe toilet was leaking into the bowl which caused a water noise the whole time. However, we did not inform the staff as we were just staying for two days and damper the sound by closing the bathroom door. We did inform the staff about the toilet leak at checkout. Although parking for the car is convenient, it is expensive, which I guess is set by Alhambra and not the hotel. The rooms could have a bit more wall plug options for charging phones and laptops, ours only had 1 plug next to bed. Breakfast could have an alternating option for meat like a sausage instead of bacon. The lack of restaurants / bars close to the hotel was a hassle because if you don't want to go all the way to the city center for some food or drink, there isn't much options close to the hotel and the few places that was near seemed to be closed to whole time, like the pizzeria. Perhaps the hotel could have a small cafeteria or even just a vending machine with some snack options. We wanted to eat supper on Sunday evening after our Alhambra tour ended at about 8pm but, everything near the hotel was closed.
The location of Hotel is great. It was easy to find on google maps and it brought us straight to the hotel. Room was clean. The walk to the city center is beautiful through the forest. Staff was very friendly and helpful. If you have a rental car the parking is also conveniently across the road from hotel. The shops to buy some refreshments close the hotel was helpful.

United KingdomFantastic location, right next to the stunning Alhambra Palace. You can park in the Alhambra carpark, just across the road. Easy to walk down into the town, a ten minute stroll - more on the way back as it's a steep slope. An ideal place to see Granada from. Good wifi.

AustraliaThe shower. The space was too narrow to have a comfy shower. The hotel is charming because is old but some furnishings need to be replaced/fixed (e.g. window's courtains).
The location! The view! Just across the street from the Alhambra. The hotel atmosphere. An old charming building. And the availability of parking at the Alhambra parking lot! (included in the room price).

United StatesThe only downside is the location. It's conveniently located across from the Alhambra; however, it is on top of a hill without a lot of shops and restaurants close by. To get to the main part of town, you can walk about 15 minutes down the hill or take a bus. If you choose to walk from Old Town, it is quite a hike going up. We made the mistake of getting back to the hotel around 10 p.m. one evening and nothing was open for dinner.
The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are large and comfortable and we had a view of the Alhambra, which is beautiful. The breakfast is good with a nice selection of items to choose from.

SwitzerlandThe sofa bed could have been a bit more comfortable but for one person OK.
Nice location, easy to reach by car. Parking at the Alhambra parking 20.50euro/day in walking distance. No car needed during stay as everything in walking distance. The two (sofa) beds in the suite for our adult children were appreciated as the sofa bed alone would have been difficult for 2.
