How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewVery nice cozy room that's not location
They do need more light in the room. A light on the desk would be helpful. That's all.

Verified reviewThe hotel is situated in a quiet location off the main street, but within easy reach, by foot, of the metro, Batobus, shops and restaurants, and many of the main attractions. We even had a view of the towers of Notre Dame. The room was large and spacious and cleaned daily.
You need to be fit to stay here as the bedroom is on the 5th floor, up some winding wooden stairs. Also, not too tall, as it has a low beam in the bedroom and one in the bathroom, which we both managed to bump our heads on when using the toilet at night!

Verified reviewLovely staff. Cute old building. We had a problem with our shower head which they fixed while we were out. It was our honeymoon and they give us a bottle of champagne. A few minutes walk from Notre Dame cathedral and the metro. Would have loved to be able to give them 10 out of 10.
The only thing wrong which pulled their score down for us was that there was black mould on the bathroom ceiling. We asked them to do something about it and they brushed it off. It's known to be very bad for your lungs and we were very disappointed that they were not at all concerned.

Verified reviewA great location, very close to Notre Dame. I could see it from my window. The coffee was good in the morning and the staff was very limited, but helpful. This hotel has been there since the early 1700's.
The stairs are very narrow and steep climb to the rooms. I am in fairly good shape, but be prepared to carry your own luggage up several flights of stairs. The key for the room weight about 1 lb. Hard to carry along in my small purse. Also, my room had low beams. Anyone over 5' might have a serious issue. The second room was nicer and had a decent shower. My room only a very high and large tub. Could call this experience charming if you are a 25yr old, short person!
Dear guest, Thank to had let us know about your experience. All the informations about our Hotel are well noticed on the booking.com website

Verified reviewThe room was very cute and surprisingly spacious. The bathroom was a good size—I appreciated having two sinks. The location is very nice!!
The lack of lighting in the room really made it difficult to go through luggage and organize our outfits. I used my phone flashlight nonstop to find things. The room was a bit toasty but opening the windows helped. It was noisy outside but we were so tired it didn’t matter.

Verified reviewThe staff of one was the only good point
The spiral staircase, dangerous, I am 70 years old and fell 8 steps. They had no injury book for insurance purposes and we're less than helpful. No kettle,no fridge, toilet door had clear glass so you could see in when on toilet. Lights in toilet were on a dimmer switch so when you got in shower lights went off. Had to wave your hands in the air to get the light back on. The price was slightly cheaper than surrounding hotels. Do not use this hotel if you are old, infirm or frail, it is not worth the risk
Dear Guest, All the informations about our facilities are well documented on the booking page, as well that are no lift ! The banister it’s well alongside of the staircase .

Verified reviewThey gave me clear instructions to enter after the hotel was closed for the night. The breakfast (extra 12 euros) was generous (reservation required)
The stairwell is narrow and winding. If you have trouble with stairs, or a suitcase you cannot lift, it can be difficult getting it to your room.

Verified reviewVery convenient to the center of Paris. Funky, clean old hotel with ages of history and layers of renovations. Staff were super friendly. Accommodations were good for the location and price. Expect an old building with narrow staircase and potentially LOTS of steps to your room. Bed was surprisingly comfortable, bathroom.somewhat recently updated, and room nice and quiet.
Steps...good exercise though.

Verified reviewIt's a very small room, but it's also a budget room. It is right by the Notre Dame cathedral and river which was nice, pretty centrally located.
The room is tiny and so was the shower.

Verified reviewIdeally placed for Notre Dame, 200 metres away. Also a stroll along the river. Staff exceptional. Very helpful, even gave us a fan for the night. Also very quiet.
Very tired, certainly needs some TLC. Mouldy ceiling in the bathroom. Unfortunately we stayed there for 4 nights and every day was 30 degrees plus. The room was very warm throughout the night and the provided fan was inadequate.

Verified reviewThe location is fantastic! We loved being so close to Notre Dame. The staff were very friendly. We felt safe with the extra locked door too.
The shower seemed to have mold growing. It was on the small side too.

Verified reviewSuch a quiet and cozy little place close to everything you need. The windows let a gorgeous breeze in in the mornings and evenings, and the fan was great for night time.
Stairs were a little more effort than first thought, especially carrying luggage.
