We wanted authentic old world and we got it with charm and hospitality. The pub was adorned with history and the open fires created a cozy atmosphere in which to enjoy our tasty breakfasts and evening meals. Our across the road room was top floor splendid with open bath, large comfortable bed, piping hot water shower and views to the college chapel. The daily biscuit treats and the tea and coffee with fresh milk in the fridge were much appreciated. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Our luggage was taken directly to the room and the meal service was very efficient. The prime location on a quiet street topped everything off – just a short walk to the cathedral and the high street beyond.

That we had to leave!!

Staff were amazing from the moment we arrived, nothing was too much trouble. The room was stunning with a lovely view. We ate in the restaurant on the first evening. The food was outstanding! We had drinks in the pub, brilliant old fashioned pub atmosphere and so much to look at on the walls, the roaring fire was a bonus! Yummy breakfast and amazing service!

Everything! Our room (Post Box) in the house across the road, was really lovely, almost like a suite with a dressing area and a desk. All the facilities were great. The pub itself was wonderful - loads of character - the staff were very friendly indeed and most helpful, and all the food (breakfast and dinner) was delicious. The location couldn't be better - only a few minutes' walk to the Cathedral and High Street shops and other attractions.

We were close to Cathedral and town centre. The staff were great and always happy to help. The Wykeham Arms is full of character and welcoming.

There could have been more light where the tea and coffee maker was sited. Note that soem rooms are located up a few flights of steep stairs, which can't be helped in historic properties like this one.

Lovely room, very comfortable and exceptionally clean. Superb bed and lovely bathroom. The complimentary shortbread provided with the tea and coffee was also truly lovely.

Restaurant prices a bit high. No burgers on evening menu. A bit noisy from the street. Lots of runners going past.

Very sweet room on top floor. Loved Winchester in general. We will be back.

Breakfast and evening meal were both excellent. My room was on second floor up very tight and steep staircase. Perhaps worth warning people about that! It was fine for me.

The fridge in the room was noisy and you could hear doors slamming from other rooms.
