Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ThailandThe room creeks a lot, so my husband was worried whether he would wake up other guests at night when he walks around
The staff are very helpful when I have questions and they try their best to answer me. If you are into a secluded sunset harbor then this is the place.

The view is amazing, the town is really chill and down to earth, local people are lovely. The owner also organize this party once a year called Head for Heda which is worth looking for, especially if you have kids.

Denmarkit was such a beautiful and peaceful location, with great staff and people in the city, we felt very welcome and at home. after some days in bigger cities it's nice to slow down in this charming town. the hostel is great with rooms that are clean, nice and all have a beautiful view of the sea and harbor. there are different things to do here, my friend and i enjoyed renting bikes to get around and go to the beach faster. there’s a lot of space in the café area as well, perfect to sit and read a book or play a board game with friends. we had originally only planned to stay for 2 nights but ended up booking two more nights because we liked the place so much. we will definitely come back!<33

CanadaThere isn't much to do in the area which is fine for a weekend get away as the onsen and beach as well as a few of the hikes around the area are nice. I think I just stayed a day or two to long
I loved the view and the cleanliness of the place! A very nice place to relax for a few days!

United StatesNope. It was pretty perfect.
The view is amazing! The location is right on the waterfront. It's an active fishing port so you cat watch the boats come and go. More exciting than a beach stay in my opinion. The rooms are also amazing. So clean!

FranceWhat an amazing 4 day stay at Tagore ! The staff was very welcoming and helpful from start to finish. The dorm room is clean, cosy and bright with a gorgeous sea view (check sunset view below). I befriended my roommates and staff. Location is super convenient, bus stop and 7 Eleven are literally around the corner, 15 minutes walk to the shrine/beach. I rented bike for 500 yen and tried home roasted cafe latte. Great place for remote work as there is workspace inside the room and in the cafe. I have been backpacking in Japan for 2 months staying at hostels, Tagore is easily in my top 3. Looking forward to my next stay !

ThailandSince the location is close to the harbor/street, you may see light from cars throughout the night if the curtain is not closed. We did not close it so that we can enjoy the sun light in the morning.
Nothing much in this small fishing town, but it was my most memorable stay in this trip. Great view of Mt Fuji at sunset, great BBQ dinner where the staff prepare the table and charcoal for us in front of the hostel to enjoy sea breeze and the quite of the town, great staff who accompanied me at the BBQ with talkings via Google Translate :)

AustraliaIt is a hostel so bathroom is shared with other guests. We asked for our beds to be put together but this wasn’t done . Wasn’t an issue really.
This was a great little find, we were sorry we didn’t have longer here. Our twin room was spacious and very clean and comfortable . The whole place is very cool and the coffee and beer were great. The bay is beautiful we came on this area by accident but it would have been lovely to explore more . Highly recommend staff were very friendly.

The staff are lovely and helped me with all my questions during my stay. They are extremely friendly. I also got to meet some very interesting people that were staying at the hotel. The hotel is right by the harbour and the final bus stop to the heda area. The view from the dorm is stunning so you’d expect to pay much more for your stay but it’s amazing value for money. There were lots of fantastic restaurants around the area but they all close around 4pm. The hotel has a coffee shop/ bar on the 1st floor that serves great food and drinks.

GermanyIf you‘re susceptible to noise: The walls are quite thin as is common in older Japanese buildings, and we were able to hear people in the neighboring room (although they were talking fairly loudly anyway), as well as the dryer down the hallway. What we were kind of missing during our stay: a place to hang our towels to dry. Maybe it was there and we didn‘t see it :)
It was quite a trip through the Izu mountains on a rainy day to get there, but our expectations were tremendously exceeded when we got there. All the staff members were very friendly (were happy to explain things in English but also happily put up with me wanting to practice my Japanese), and our room was a dream. After going to the onsen to wind down after a day of travel, we grabbed some dinner and enjoyed it from our room - open windows, overlooking the night-time harbor literally right in front of us. The choice of furniture is on point, the custom made shelf/table across the wall facing the port is wonderful and I also loved the warm lighting. Breakfast is well worth noting, the bread was excellent and they were able to accomodate a vegetarian option (I didn‘t specifically ask for vegan though). If you prefer to do your own breakfast, that also works, and there‘s a 24h 7-eleven around the corner if you‘re in a pickle. Overall: The whole place was so well put-together, beautiful and cozy that I went around recommending it to everyone after we left. If you‘re looking for a weekend getaway, this is it.

United StatesThis was one of my favorite hotel stays ever. The hostel is in a really untouched little village that is still full of charm and authenticity. I wound up staying two extra nights, and then two more extra nights. With a perfect view and friendly staff, it was impossible to leave. When I did finally have to head back to Tokyo, the owner overheard me mentioning I was catching the bus and offered me a ride to the train (he was heading that way anyway). Like most people who have visited, I cannot wait to stay at Tagore again.

GermanyThe price was high for a hostel without private bathroom. The harbour of course was busy from morning hours with people working, so it became quite noisy. Be prepared to use earplugs.
The rooms were amazing. I think at times we were the only guests, so basically we had the whole hostel to ourselves. Very clean and nice view. The staff was super nice and cute. Downstairs is a 24/7 open seven eleven.
