Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

TaiwanMy husband has injuries from prior military service so hard beds really wreck him and while this bed wasn't terribly hard by Taiwanese or Japanese standards, for someone who has back issues, you'll want to pack an extra blanket or something to lay atop the bed to soften it. The pillows were the same, a bit small but comfortable, just needed to fluff them up with some extra clothing for the added support. Even with these two things, though, loved stayed here and would again.
It's a 10 min walk from Kokusai street, 35 min walk from Shuri castle, quiet at night, right across the street from a 24hr convenience store, lots of local eateries nearby, easy slot parking nearby if you rent a car, the lao ban assisted in helping us rent a car. Very clean and convenient. If you want to cook for yourself take camp pots for the burner there but there's also a microwave, same with camp plates though there are two mugs to go with the tea kettle. The fridge is plenty large and the washer and dryer work well.

AustraliaI wish cutlery and a few dinnerware was provided as it made it tricky to have food without them
Great location, convenient to all public transport and a convenience store right across the road. The managers were super accommodating with the time of arrival and went above and beyond our expectations to meet our needs. The place was easy to find although the front sign is in Japanese. Key drop-off was quite convenient as well.

United KingdomSome cutlery and crockery would have been nice.
The apartment is located minutes from the port, easy walk to the centre of Naha. It is spacious, comfortable, affordable. One of the best we've had in 2 months of travelling in Japan.

Check-in was very easy as the key was in a lock box. Check out was also easy as we left the key in the mailbox when we left early in the morning. The apartment has everything you need for a short stay (cooking utensils could be rented separately if needed - we did not as we ate out all of the time) and was in a nice quiet area but still close to many places to eat and a 5 minute walk from the monorail. We really enjoyed our stay here. Everything was clean and worked well.

SwitzerlandThere's a kitchenette and a fridge and a microwave, but except for 2 cups no dishes or cutlery or pans. Not easy to actually make use of the kitchenette.
This is a one room flat with kitchenette, washing machine, dryer and a small balcony. It can be reached easily on foot, even with luggage, from both Miebashi monorail station and Tomari wharf. A convenience store is right across the street. A 5-minute walk brings you to Kokusai douri (just cross the street to the Lawson convenience store and without ever changing directions keep going straight on). Self checkin was easy, only required a phone call.

JapanI was given the wrong code for the key lock and a wrong contact telephone number. Thankfully, the last option (phone the service agency) worked and after a few mins, the owner called and gave me the right code for the lock. This was a bit of a bummer but from then on, everything was running smoothly.
Place was cheap, clean and reasonably quiet. Amenities were all there, so nothing to really complain about.

Brunei DarussalamNo kitchen utensils are supplied, made the kitchen useless. Turned out it was a rental charge, not mentioned anywhere. Owner said he'd drop some off, didn't happen in 10 days. Balcony was very dusty (soft cement), easily makes a mess inside. Also no cleaning was done for the 10 day stay, also no cleaning utensils supplied to do it ourselves, so when we left the place was dirty.
Very good location. Light interior. Balcony. Great shower.

United StatesThe description of the property states that the kitchen is "well fit" but there was no cookware, no eating utensils, no dish soap or towels. My stay was for several days and yet there was no indication about what to do with my garbage. The property waited until I was on premises and contacted them before sending key access. That is unnecessarily inconvenient. It was unclear to me if anyone was on premises to help. There is no place to hang wet swim wear on the balcony.
The property is a short walk from the ferry port and yet reasonably quiet at night. The area seems safe and provides many options for shopping and eating. The room is fine for a solo traveler but would be tight for more than one person.
