The room is a little cluttered with ornaments and things you don't need .but really that isn't such a problem.

The Y&Y residence offers one upstairs double room in a private house. The room is absolutely private with a balcony overlooking the main road. The room has everything you need. A comfortable bed, wardrobe, shelving, kettle and a fully functioning bathroom with a really good shower. Everything is spotlessly clean. It is very good value for money. It's only 5 minutes walk into town and a short tuk tuk ride from the train station. The owner is very welcoming and helpful.

It’s a bit loud in the morning from the cars on the street, which is obviously not the hosts fault but maybe good to know for light sleepers

The place is literally excellent. We expected much less for this value. The homestay is close to the city center, however, located in a peaceful neighborhood away from the hustle and crouds. The room is equipped well with all necessary things in place and the bathroom design is cozy and functional unlike many places I stayed before in Sri Lanka. I also enjoyed the balcony with the view of huge old jackfruit trees. We did laundry of a large bag of clothes through the homestay and it was just $10 for the whole thing!

WiFi was weak originally (I think from a storm) but we just told the host and they fixed it immediately & then it worked very well

Most well equipped room we stayed in in Sri Lanka. Feels newly renovated, great bathroom. The breakfast was fantastic & so generous. Host family was lovely. Good location close to lake. Would stay again.

This homestay definitely took us by surprise. It has everything that an accomodation can offer, from facilities to very comfortable beds to very nice owners! The family helped us with every need and the location of the stay was also amazing as it was close to the center so you can walk but still have some peace and quiet.

The staff were friendly and helpful, with lots of smiles. The amenities provided, such as insect repellent and toothpaste, were also a nice touch. The hotel is located on a hill overlooking the lake, and is just a short walk uphill from the city center. It's also convenient to the Central Market and large shopping malls. I highly recommend it.

The room has street view but not lake view

Y & Y Residence is located in one of the most prestigious areas in Kandy but with walking distance to the city center and mall. The room is very big and clean. The host is very hospitable and keep communicating with guest. Over all, I am happy to stay in Y & Y. It presents a good value

Hadn't realized they didn't take credit cards but my fault. Had to find atm to pay. Bit of a hill from city to reach but only a short distance.

Best decked out homestay room I have ever stayed in. Best and biggest breakfast so far. WiFi great. English fine.

This property is in a great location, in Central kandy but on a road just slightly back from the city centre, away from the noise. It only took us a few minutes to walk to kandy lake and rest of Central kandy. The property was very clean and kindly accepted some train tickets for us which were posted to the property in advance. The room has additional amenities such as cutlery which we found helpful. Thank you!

The host was very nice and his English was very good. The room had air-condition and a fridge. The host provided everything we needed. A lot of attention to detail.

The only small thing is that the aircon doesn’t restart automatically, when the power goes out. You reboot it with the entry card on the wall. Not their fault the power goes out - only for short spurts.

There was nothing we didn’t like, we would stay here again without hesitation. The property owner even followed up with us after our stay to ensure we made it to our next destination safely.

The hospitality is incredible! We were welcomed with fresh juices and the property owner and his family went above and beyond to ensure our every need was met. They gave us recommendations on things to do, contact information for a driver, and even went to the train station to help us get tickets for the Kandy-Ella train. They provided full-sized amenities in the room and the shower temperature and water pressure were the best we had in Sri Lanka. The location of the B&B is also great. There’s a peaceful balcony off of the room, and you can walk to the lake in 5-10 min; we were centrally located to everything so we walked most of the time, though getting a tuk tuk was also easy.

Small family guesthouse, a lot of thought and care has gone into the rooms, with everything you need for a comfortable stay, and the best shower we’ve had in Sri Lanka so far! Hosts are lovely, and there is a beautiful view of the Kandy hills from the breakfast table.

This is the best place to stay in Kandy. We had such a great time at the Y&Y. Amazing room, super clean and the facilities and bathroom are amazing! We would always come back here if we would stay in Kandy. Absolutely great!

Price seemed a bit high

This was the nicest place I stayed in during my time in Sri Lanka. The room was spotless and had many great amenities (strong a/c and fan, good wifi, common area and balcony, etc). I was very comfortable during my stay here. The location is a short walk to the city center and in a very calm neighborhood which is great if you want a quiet place to rest. The family that runs the property is very responsive and sweet.

The property wasn’t easy to find by our driver. If you look on Google maps the Y&Y residence is clearly marked in the correct location - I would suggest using that rather than the address.

Lovely owners, clean and comfortable room, in a fantastic location right in the centre of Kandy.
