Everything—from the check-in process to the smallest personal touches—was handled with care and grace. The location is unbeatable, with views of the Gateway of India and the Arabian Sea just steps away. My mornings began with an incredible breakfast spread offering a vast array of delicious options from across India and beyond. The culinary excellence was matched only by the service and presentation. What truly set this experience apart was the sense of history that envelops the hotel. A special thank you to Mr. Newton, the in-house historian, who spent two hours personally walking me through the rich legacy of the palace. Having worked there for over 44 years, his stories, insights, and passion brought the walls of the hotel to life. It was like walking through time, guided by someone who had lived it. I only stayed four days, and it wasn’t nearly enough. I didn’t want to leave. Next time, I’ll be staying longer—because the Taj isn’t just a place to sleep; it’s a destination in itself. Embodying the 120-year-old legacy of John Jacob Astor IV, our 5-star hotel in South Mumbai made its debut as the first St. Regis hotel in India. This is one of the best hotel i ever stayed. Below the hotel is a shopping mall and the hotel is wonderful with great facilities and breakfast. Staff were extremely friendly and pleasant. Service is world class!!

The room was well appointed, although a little smaller than I expected, but very comfortable with pillow options and good blackout curtains. The breakfast was excellent, cooked to order with a great choice of local and western options, plus a buffet for fruit and pastries. We had a wonderful waiter called Jason who made our mornings extra special with his recommendations and excellent service. The doormen were also fantastic, always courteous and helpful when our Uber went to the wrong pick up! We loved the location of the hotel as it was less frantic then other places and very peaceful, it's also great to walk along Marine Drive in the evenings and people watch. We had a great stay!
