Původně jsme měli zarezervované ubytování přímo ve městě Stykkishólmur, ale jakmile se uvolnilo ubytování zde, změnili jsme to a udělali jsme dobře. Poloha u jezera je úžasná, je zde spousta zajímavého ptactva, z nedalekého kultovního kopce Helgafell je nádherný výhled na všechny strany. Kostelík pod kopcem atmosféru místa jen umocňuje. Velice přátelský vítací pejsek (Molly?) se dostavil ihned po našem příjezdu a před odjezdem se s námi přišel rozloučit. Místo bychom doporučili fotografům a všem kteří se chtějí vyhnout mainstreamu.

From the minute we arrived we were welcomed and made to feel right at home. Guðrún Björg is the sort of host that others simply dream of being. Every single detail has been thought out, she is a warm wealth of information about the area, and someone who truly cares about making your stay and experience as magical as it could be. The meals we enjoyed were also exceptional - lamb sourced from the property, and cod caught by her sons and husband, and freshly made waffles in the morning - what more could you ask for? This place is worth every penny and the view from our cottage was just tops. Go - stay here - relax - enjoy!

The location, the welcome and the design/feeling at the Hotel was exemplary. Very friendly staff greeting us and a warm, comfortable vibe in the lobby area made us feel at home quickly. We had a nice room on the 1st floor that was super cozy and nicely decorated - bed was very nice to sleep on :) Breakfast was thoughtfully prepared and delicious.

They provided a freshly baked gluten free bread of a high quality.

The shower did not have a normal drain but rather had a space between the tiles for the water. We didn’t realize this immediately and water was EVERYWHERE. Breakfast was absolutely delicious and the fresh bread is out of this world. Abundance of parking spaces (free) and we saw the aurora from this location.
