Service was flawless, the food was perfect, and the baths were great. My room was good for my needs, it was quiet, and the waterfall and rivers outside was a great source of white noise. Kannawaen is an entirely non-smoking accommodation that features a garden, terrace and bar in Beppu. 100 metres from Hells of Beppu, the property is also 500 metres away from Jigokumushikobo Kannawa. The location is excellent if you plan to visit all the Hells of Beppu, everything is very close to the Ryokan. The place itself is pretty good and the Onsen has an amazing view of Beppu, you have to go during the night. I stayed in one of the more expensive rooms, so it is a given that the room was amazing, having a private onsen, both inside and outside, was amazing. The dinner course was wonderful, best sake I had during my trip.
