Love everything, especially our in-room staff Mutsumi. She made tea for us and prepared us for dinner - made us feel so welcome. Dinner was the best I ever had in a hotel! We are lucky enough to see Fuji-san from our room considering it's summer. Private and public onsen are great also roof-top foot spa (get a really clear view of Fuji-san on the roof top). Breakfast buffet is perfect - alll you can drink matcha latte!! Location is great, we walked to Fuji-san rope way in the morning. Parking is free and just across the street.

Absolutely amazing stay with views to the lake and the mt Fuji. The staff was welcoming and extremely nice. They accomodated any needs we had and I am sure they are capable of more. We were able to borrow bikes and enjoyed the ride around the lake. The room is bright and beautiful. The onsen has fantastic views for the perfect sunset.

I can’t even believe this place. Room is good for 4 people. You basically have a house to yourself. There is a private onsen with Fuji views. The views of Fuji in my living room and dining room are crazy too — amazing!! Also, everything is very well thought-out!! Omakase dinner and breakfast are chef’s kiss ✨ Staff is super helpful — they even helped map out my route from the ryokan to Osaka. The floors are heated — the water is never cold (I went in winter). You even have a little garden to yourself with a table and chairs outside so you can look at Fuji while drinking tea. But I would recommend that in Spring lol as it’s super cold in winter outside.

I had an amazing stay at this ryokan! Just like others have mentioned, the food was absolutely delicious, and I was really surprised by the generous portions of authentic local dishes—such a wonderful experience! The entire ryokan was spotlessly clean and very quiet, making it a truly relaxing place to stay. When I visited, there weren’t many guests, which made it feel even more peaceful. One of the most memorable experiences was the kindness of the staff. It was snowing heavily that day, and I missed my bus, which meant I had to wait another two hours. Out of nowhere, the ryokan staff messaged me to check on us, and when they heard about our situation, they offered to pick us up! When we finally arrived, being welcomed with a warm, delicious meal was the best feeling ever. The ryokan is actually very close to Hirano Beach, but unfortunately, due to the heavy snow, we didn’t get to visit. That just gives me another reason to come back! If I ever visit Yamanakako again, I will definitely stay here. The hospitality was top-notch, and the staff made us feel so at home. One of the elderly ladies even noticed that I was unsure how to eat a dish and helped feed me—it was such a heartwarming and adorable moment. ❤️

Location gives a very peaceful quiet place to relax, away from the city. It has a beautiful view of Mt Fuji and on our the morning of our second day, we enjoyed a fantastic upside-down- Mt-Fuji view. The owner, Kobayashi-san, is so friendly, hospitable and takes great care of his guests.

Staff were very kind and helpful. They had a fantastic dinner and breakfast. I don't normally eat vegetarian/vegan food but this is exceptional, I would recommend this to any traveller who is unsure of trying a meal thats vegetarian/ vegan. The town itself is lovely and is great for anyone wanting to know more about Buddhism. If you want to escape the city and have time to relax, this is the place to go.
