Set on a square behind Reykjavík Cathedral and the Icelandic Parliament, this hotel offers modern rooms with free Wi-Fi access and Nespresso coffee machines. Lake Tjörnin is 1 minutes’ walk away. The location was superb. We left our car in an inexpensive carpark and did much of our exploration on foot. We were beside the lake, near the parliament buildings, across from the church (which kindly was NOT ringing its bells), and dozens of excellent restaurants. We drove to the sites further afield. We had selected the "Big Room 307" and were charmed by it. A separate bedroom, good bathroom, and a sitting room with sofa and bar stools at the counter. The breakfast buffet got us off to a good start each day. All the Reception staff were great with Martin setting the tone. Lovely to have met you all.

Původně garáž přebudovaná na pokoj, kompletní příslušenství, dokonale vybavená kuchyňka (koutek), včetně kávovaru na kapsle Nespresso, ty tam byly k dispozici, čaj, pochutiny jako hořčice, ocet, olej mouka, těstoviny, prostě cokoli, co si můžete vymyslet. Parkování v ceně přímo před vstupem. Pro každého kromě ručníků taky župan, přezůvky, šitíčko. Pračka, toaletní potřeby, kosmetika, až do takových detailů, jako třeba šampón na vousy :-) Na uvítanou velmi milý dopis v češtině a pro každého z nás zákusek z místní cukrárny. Velmi potěšilo.

Center apartments - Hekla se nachází ve čtvrti Reykjavik East v Reykjavíku a poskytuje terasu, bezplatné Wi-Fi a pračku. K zajímavým místům v blízkém okolí patří Sólfar (Sluneční poutník). We stayed two nights here on late November and made a very last minute reservation on the same day. But very satisfied with our decision. Location: it is not in the middle of the city but it is great because it has ample free parkings outside the building. It is very convenient for us to load and unload our big luggages and the building has a lift. We drove to the city and park few hours when sightseeing. It's a walkable distance but during winter it was just too cold for us. It has eateries and a Bonus supermarket next door. Owner/manager: fast response. We communicate through this app and get fast prompt response. Though we booked few hours before check in, the apartment is ready, clean and self check in instruction is clear and easy to understand, easy to access. The locals living there are also nice and friendly. Facilities: washer and dryer available in common space. However we can't comment on details because we didn't use it. We just dry our small items in the house on the heated drying racks. Kitchen facilities are good, managed to cook with ease and the owner also left some basic seasonings and maybe items from previous guests. I like that they didn't throw away perfectly good items. We're able to use it as well.👍 The apartment is cozy and homely. Would stay again for future visit and stayed even longer. Very comfortable, feel safe and in summer maybe we can use the big terrace. The owner cares about the details because the plates and bowls and the vases are the nice ones.
