Enkhuisen was by far, our favourite place in the Netherlands. Beautiful, peaceful, uncrowded and authentic. Everything is within walking distance. We took the steamtram and boat for a leisurely, fun and historic journey to the town - (Keep your luggage to a minimum if bringing eg store big bags at Amsterdam Centraal, Sloterdijk storage is unreliable) Families with young kids thoroughly enjoyed the fun activities along the way as did we (an older couple). In addition to wonderful walks, Enkhuisen the town has the best museum (Zuiderzee) - a living, breathing historic collection of homes and businesses dating back around a hundred years ago showing what life was like back then for the fishing community before the dike wall changed their way of life completely. A fascinating, absorbing trip through time. So much to see and do. Now, the accommodation: Absolutely wonderful, our hosts Ellen and Dirk, could not have been more helpful and kind. They did everything possible to make us feel welcome and comfortable. And the accommodation itself was an utter delight - spacious, comfortable bed, great shower, gorgeous view out over the canal and awesome breakfast choices. We would encourage everyone to come here to experience the best of the Netherlands. We would love to come again.

The location of the property was excellent, you are right by the beach front and the town. The B&B was very clean and comfortable. The jacuzzi was amazing on a cold night. The host was very nice. It was clear that Ilse and Jan had thought of every little touch to ensure a truly memorable experience. Their warm and genuine hospitality was what truly made the stay exceptional. Isle and Jan greeted us with smiles that made us feel instantly at home. They took the time to get to know us, offering valuable insights into the local area and suggesting hidden gems to explore. The tranquil ambiance of De Kamer combined with the heartfelt hospitality of Ilse and Jan, created an unforgettable experience that exceeded all expectations. The house is beautifully decorated, very spacious, and had books and toys available. Diana was flawless—attentive, friendly, and provided helpful information about Edam and Amsterdam. The kitchen was well equipped, making everything very convenient. Edam is a lovely city, and although we had planned to spend most of our days in Amsterdam, we were so captivated by Edam that we set aside time to explore it as well. Following the hostess’s recommendation, we attended the cheese market in Edam, which was a very special experience. We also commuted to Amsterdam by bus, which was indeed very easy and convenient.

He responded to inquiries promptly, welcomed me upon arrival and made me feel at home immediately, arranged for additional garden furniture, dinnerware, etc. to accommodate me hosting my family and friends in the beautiful church garden. Restaurants, stores, sights all within walking distance. Kitchenette equipped with everything one needs for breakfast, lunch, and easy dinners.
