The atmosphere is welcoming and quiet. I slept on the last floor, so for guests carrying a big luggage, I recommend to bring a duffel bag or similar to bring your belongings upstairs. Although the owners did not hesitate for a second to bring my luggage, it was good sense to leave it on the ground floor and bringing only the items to be used (toiletry, pajamas, etc). The shared room has enough space to circulate. If you prefer to sleep in the dark, I recommend you bring the sleeping mask, as the lights remain on until the last guest sleeps. The shower is good , and you will have a nice hot water. The location is very close to the train station and to the Sanjo Dori street.

This is an amazing property and we loved staying in a traditional Japanese townhouse, in a quiet part of town. I was travelling with my husband and 3 adult children in early April. The location is great for walking into Nara (10-15 mins). We arrived in the evening and it was lovely that our host had put the heating on for us and it was easy to retrieve the keys from the key safe. It was a bonus to find there are 2 toilets and 2 hand washing basins in the property. We all agreed that the shower is the most powerful shower we have ever come across - amazing. All the beds were large doubles and very comfortable. We stayed for 4 nights and our host had left lots of extra towels for us (far more than we chose to use). We liked that the bedrooms could also be heated in the evening, if needed. I used the washing machine and the instructions in English were helpful. There were lots of hanging rails to dry clothes on. The kitchen was well equipped and had more than we needed to reheat meals from the convenience store or to make snacks. For the rest of our stay in Japan we stayed in aparthotels in family suites. I was great to have so much room to spread out in for a few days. I highly recommend this property.

I like it’s a small traditional Japanese family style hotel located in the middle of the mountain that’s still close to the town Ikoma by driving. The clear city view from the tea room is spectacular: we enjoyed the sight of the town with the high elevation and mountain range close by. The warm city lights at night and neighboring beautiful cherry blossoms and magnolia blended in the background of green hills under daylight are memorable. The host is also very accommodating: she speaks English and understands us well without too much trouble. On top of making arrangements for tea ceremony and kimono fitting (of course with additional charge), she can provide very good traditional Japanese breakfast. We didn’t try dinner there but I am sure it would be good. It’s about an hour drive away from Nara, Osaka, Tokyo, and other major cities in Kansai. Would highly recommend to people who want to experience what want to explore the city at daytime but want to experience a different vibe to stay outside of the city area at night.

Beautiful view even if the cherry blossom is later this year. Amazing Onsen. Lovely staff and amazing food. So glad we had this experience.

Ryokan Taishoro poskytuje pokoje v destinaci Sakurai. Jen 19 km odtud se nachází Nara vlakové nádraží a Subaru Hall je 32 km daleko. A beautiful property, very close to Miwa train station and a 6 minute walk away from a convenience store. The host was very helpful and informative, and I felt welcomed and very well taken care of. My room was stunning. There are so many wonderful sights around and near this area, I wish I had stayed longer.
