Foundry34 is a a lovely boutique hotel with a nice restaurant on the ground floor. I had the flatiron steak which was excellent. Breakfast was also well presented.

The room was lovely, with a nice view from the bedroom.
The shower was also incredible, we wanted to take it with us 😂
Thank you for having us, the pub is also lovely, very nice food and very pretty/relaxing ambience inside. We expected to go to Penrith for the evening but couldn't get a taxi, they squeezed us in to eat too. Thanks again for that too 😁
Very good value for money.

The village and the room were lovely and peaceful.. the breakfast was superb… much choice and cooked just so… I initially asked for no fried bread due to a past horror at a different hotel but she brought me a sample.. crispy and dry.. what service… altogether a excellent stay

Beautiful town with a lot of history embedded. Places one needs to visit include Penrith Castle, Brougham Castle, Long Meg and Daughters. The cafes and restaurants at Penrith are cute and exude that family vibe. Highly recommend to do a stop-over at Penrith.

we visited Penrith as a bit of nostalgia as we used to go frequently in the past. The town was very quiet although we found a very good restaurant, GRANTS, for a delicious evening meal. It used to be a bustling market town which seems to have lost its heart . Maybe internet shopping has affected the economy of the town as is the case in many towns. It is perhaps a useful place to stay to explore the surrounding area which remains beautiful.

We used The Station Hotel as a stop off for a day trip to Scotland and could have stayed longer in Penrith as we barely took a look around. We had some dramas and it is credit to staff and management that they were able to sort booking confusions quickly and professionally. Thanks folks.

Penrith as a great place to base yourself for a stay in the Lake District. It's quieter than the more popular and populous towns of Keswick and Windermere - except in March when it hosts the World Marmalade Festival and, according to Karen and Ali from Blue Swallow Guesthouse, the town is decorated with Paddington Bears and Honey Pots. They even boast having one of the champion marmalade makers stay with them on an annual basis.

Free parking and a bar on site were positives as was the central location.
The advert said that it was a larger than average room but including the bathroom it was no more than 13ft by 8 ft. There was no table or chairs so not a pleasant area to spend any time. The bottom of the outside of the shower had ingrained dirt.

Penrith town very nice and quaint!
Penrith town very nice and quaint! The locals were lovely - in the bars, hotel and on the streets.
We visited Coniston lake and enjoyed it. Very pretty. nice cafe and food. boat trip very good.
Went to see Arthur's Round Table! Delightful. Nice hotel for coffee opposite.
I loved that my little room had a window overlooking Penrith Castle ruins......thank you for the heater which I did need. The shower was fine which was a pleasant surprise.
The staff were lovely, very welcoming; I ate in the hotel and the chef kindly altered the bar meal to suit me- huge portion too, the plate looked amazing. Seemed a well stocked bar .
I walked around Penrith and there are plenty of places to eat/drink; the sun was shining and it was a lovely stop off.
Reception area and seating areas downstairs were welcoming and comfortable, with large sofas and open fireplaces. It had a really nice atmosphere. Bar and reception staff were friendly. Hotel has a good central location for exploring the beautiful Lake District - just a short walk into Penrith and a 10 minute drive from the Ullswater Steamer.
Hotel was situated across the road from the bus stop and railway station and was a short walk into town center. Had a great view of Penrith Castle from our bedroom. Didn't eat there so can't comment on food. Bedroom was clean and comfy and shower hot. The bar was lovely and oldie world and we enjoyed chatting to friendly locals.
Characterful accommodation in a traditional village pub. Plenty to like about this recently renovated small hotel run as a community enterprise. Enjoyed the meals set in the intimate bar/dining room shared with the rural residents as their "local".
A good alternative to the traditional towns for a visit to the Lakes.
Breakfast is good, and is included in the price (otherwise we wouldn't have it but would get something in town). Parking is easy, fairly cheap, and very close. The hotel is very close to the town centre, which is good, as Penrith is (for us) a worthwhile town to potter around and spend money.
Really clean comfortable room and hotel, which was also felt tidily furnished.
The staff were really friendly and breakfast was good.
The car park seemed roomy and was a good location.
Penrith was a better destination than expected too, loads of pubs and good wetherspoons!
Great location to explore north lakes /penrith. Lovely wee village with a green /playpark located right beside the hotel. Food was delicious and any changes we wanted to make were accommodated no problem. The staff were fantastic - very helpful and friendly.
It was an unprecedented stay. Warm, cosy, cordial ambience. Breakfast was as expected and it was huge. A table top fan was provided that helped a lot in beating the summer. Room was nice & compact.
If I visit Penrith again, definitely will stay here again.
This is hands down the best hotel / apartment I have ever stayed in, anywhere. So beautifully laid out. So clean and crisp. Such lovely windows! Perfect location for breaking the journey from the south to Scotland. It's a genuine treat.
A beautiful country hotel in a lovely little village of Stainton. The food was excellent and the staff very welcoming and friendly. Our room was small but we had all we needed, it was clean and comfortable with all amenities provided.
Great location in the centre of Penrith with easy access to all local attractions. Comprehensive menus for all tastes. The standard of food was always excellent for lunch, dinner and breakfast.
The Hotel is located in a very pretty country village outside Penrith. Our room was spacious, clean and really comfortable, and the view of the gardens from our room was lovely.
