Offering a garden and quiet street view, Old Byurakan Gouest House is located in Byurakan, 35 km from Armenian Opera and Ballet Theatre and 35 km from Republic Square. The property features mountain and garden views, and is 26 km from Etchmiadzin Cathedral. Featuring family rooms, this property also provides guests with a picnic area.

The family who run the guest house are lovely. There is a common area with sofas, and also a kitchen/dining room where you can cook meals. The view from the front of the house is spectacular and it's so nice to sit outside with your morning coffee. It's walking distance to the observatory, and we also used it as a base to climb Aragats. We had breakfast one morning and it was simple but delicious. On the room information it had said that there was air conditioning, but there wasn't an actual air con unit in our room. However this wasn't a problem at all as there was an air vent in the wall and the room stayed fresh and cool, even when it was over 30C outside. Also our room (budget triple) didn't have a window but this probably helped to keep it cool and it didn't bother us as it meant we slept very well, and we could sit in the common areas during the day anyway.

The spacious holiday home is fitted with 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, bed linen, towels, a TV with satellite channels, a dining area, a fully equipped kitchen, and a balcony with mountain views. A private entrance leads guests into the holiday home, where they can enjoy some wine or champagne and fruits. A dressing room and laundry service is also available.

+ Lady of the house was a gem. She has a really interesting personality and went out of her way to make us feel comfortable. We received food, coffee, tea, snacks all out of kindness and were always greeted with a smile. + Location on the way to Mount Aragats (own vehicle or hitchhiking necessary). Small but friendly village with helpful people. Small markets close by. + Big rooms. + Nice garden with hammocks and sitting spaces. Plenty of shade. + Pleasant living room with tables and couches. + Basic kitchen available for cooking. + We could do our laundry. + Good WiFi. Don't expect a 5* luxurious hotel, of course, but a no frills countryside homestay with 5* service. It's a beautiful way to experience true Armenia.

The location is great especially if you plan to visit Aragats mountain and/or Kari lake. It was easy to find, plenty of parking space. The view is spectacular and there are hammocks available to relax. Our booked room had some issues with hot water, so we were offered a two-bedroom "villa" property (with separate entrance) for the same price.

Heavenly talks, breakfast & dinner. Best Location to explore the Aragats area. Host Vanush is one of the best ever met. His store is a communicative hotspot of Byurakan, where one can experience much of real Armenia and the life of the villagers. I am thankful to have been part of it.
