Very quiet location with lots of bush around, house was close enough to the shops by short drive or walk, Alonnah has pub with great food and a general store and post office. We shopped for groceries on the drive from Hobart so were well stocked, only a couple of stores on the island with limited products - being self contained was great, would recommend that approach. Ideal for a restful and peaceful holiday - Alonnah was in a great location for us to travel around the island, within a week we saw all island attractions and still time to relax. Lots of walking optioins on island, but we didnt take them up. If you love nature you will love this.

Friendly, relaxing atmosphere.
Friendly, relaxing atmosphere. Greeted with 2 free bottles of locally produced Bruny Island cider. Food was delicious at the hotel but you need to book a table as they fill quickly. Views were amazing.

It's only about 30 min from the ferry terminal and the full length of the road between ferry terminal and Alonnah is sealed and not gravel road.
Hotel Bruny is only 5 min drive down the main road but you have to book as this is the other restaurant open for dinner, I believe. Food there was very good.

What a great location and home to stay in for our Bruny Island visit. Ambience, comfy, views, sitting on the back deck watching the birds and water was so relaxing. Definitely book this home for your stay - its in walking distance to Hotel Bruny which is fabulous - great meals, meant no cooking necessary for me!

The location is great.
The location is great. The town is ordinary but a plus is that the Bruny Hotel and General Store located there. Both are good. There is a nice walk in walking distance from where we stayed. Also other features of Bruny Island are not too far away.
A 3 night stay at this property left us well rested. Greeted by water views at the front door immediately made us feel at home. Stylish interior with plenty of books, games, fireplace and a sensational view to the water totally distracted us from the fact there was no television.
Centrally located in Alonnah, close to Bruny Hotel, made it accessible to all that this beautiful island offers. Seagrass on Sunset Bay deserves all the credit given but alas I wish it was my little secret!
The property was perfect, but they did not have my Booking.com reservation. They took care of me and my husband and upgraded our room. It was disturbing that they had no record of a booking from June 2022. It was solved because the accommodation was not full. If you have information on why this happened, let me know. Since I had not been asked for payment prior to arrival, I attempted to contact Hotel Bruny several times. No response to texts. No reservation at the hotel,
Very comfortable, modern, and well-equipped house in a great central location on Bruny. Pantry and fridge were stocked with cereals and basic staples. Nice view over the water and lots of wildlife visiting the yard each evening. Close to the hotel which provides very good meals, which are also available as take-away. Some minor irritations are noted below, but overall a great place to stay.
Alonnah on Bruny is right near the beach. The studio was perfect for our stay: super clean, modern, stylish, and had nice views. The owners, Shirley and Ken, are extremely generous with the breakfast they included (e.g., homemade smoked salmon/trout pie and a few other options) and the freebies in the room. I would definitely stay here again next time I visit Bruny.
The cottage is very clean and well equipped, it has everything you need. Location is also great and very close to Bruny Hotel where you could find a good restaurant. Steve is very helpful and responsive. We love the place a lot and hope to visit again next time! Thank you, Steve
The location was excellent, and the food in the hotel restaurant/bar was top notch. It was so fantastically quiet and peaceful at night. The room was basic and comfortable for our short three night stay. The mattress has seen better days. The staff were efficient and welcoming.
Good view and well equipped kitchen. Liked that the unit was self contained and separate from the others. Lots of visiting wildlife like wallabies and ducks!
A 10 min drive from where you check in at Hotel Bruny. Recommend booking to eat there as it seems to get quite busy.
Quiet location.
Gorgeous views through the house's many windows and decks.
Wallabies and pademelons visit the garden.
At the bottom of the driveway you can access a path which is mostly flat and goes into the town of Alonnah (about 15 min walk)
Very clean
Beautiful house, very well equipped, very clean, very comfortable. Well located - only a minute or so by car to hotel and groceries in Alonnah. Stunning views. Good fencing for dogs. Good communication with manager throughout stay.
Our stay on Bruny Island was gorgeous, and this property was one of the best parts. It exceeded our expectations, particularly with the bath at the end of the bed and the views from the window and deck - will never forget this stay!
Absolutely beautiful and cosy little house conveniently situated near the village of Alonnah. Well equipped with all that you need . Fireplace was a highlight. Couldn't have asked for anything more.
Would stay again.
Lots to like here, particularly the large outside table, the games room, amble parking, large kitchen, comfy lounge, the coastal track (perfect for little kids to ride their bike on) to Alonnah just opposite the house.
It's a pleasant little cottage well located close enough to the Bruny Hotel and General Store + the Neck Reserve. Warmer months would be very nice with an outdoor area. Just about everything you need is there.
Had everything we needed, was close to the hotel and shop for dinner, welcoming interior and nice deck to watch the sunset. The owner gave us some great tips for our stay. Lovely, would stay again.
Close to general store and local hotel. Very modern,
Good water pressure in the shower and immaculately clean. Nice position to view the wild life at dusk. Short walk to the beach.
the food at the hotel was fantastic.
the staff were really friendly and professional.
the accomadation was relly clean and well maintiained.
I really loved the chips.
