Coles Bay is a beautiful spot to explore the stunning walks...
Coles Bay is a beautiful spot to explore the stunning walks around the Hazards and Wineglass Bay. There's a small store / post office that has all the basics and more, plus a fish & chip shop and great coffee bar/restaurant. Great to stay here for a few days and explore Sleepy Bay, Cape Tourville and Wineglass Bay lookout walks. The oyster farm is also well worth a visit.
You definitely need a car to make the most of the area.

Coles Bay is just stunning and deserves more than the two...
Coles Bay is just stunning and deserves more than the two nights and one day that we had. Ideally, two full days if not more. Lots of hiking, beaching, kayaking etc. Loved it. Lucky those who own a house there!

Lovely scenic location.
Lovely scenic location. Could have stayed another day/night here. Lots of local bush walks, etc.
Initially was concerned with meal/dining options - but discovered a few lovely spots, thanks to our host.
Beautiful beaches, nature walks, restaurants, wildlife, activities, family friendly, range of accommodation, wineries, National Parks office, bakery. Easy to get around and get informtion. Easy walking trails and challenging mountain hikes Kayaking, 4WD quad bikes, wineries, excellent wildlife viewing.Icecreamery, pizzas, general suermarket, bakery, tavern.
Stunning location overlooking Coles Bay with all of the cabins set in a spaced bush environment. We opted to upgrade at check in to the Coastal Pavilion as treat and while expensive was an amazing room to stay in with all walls curved timber with hidden catches on doors and your own private deck with glimpses of the water through the bush with wallabies just wandering by. Bay Restaurant was very good. Staff there were all fantastic. The Wineglass Bay boat trip will pick up from the hotel wharf which was very easy.
Pebble Shack is a terrific place to stay in Coles Bay. Having a house to stay in was definitely a bonus. The property was comfortable and the bed was awesome. The location was great too, easy access to everything: it is the main street into Coles Bay, but I didn't have any issues with traffic or noise. This would be a great place if you have children as there was a huge yard for them to run around in. I would definitely stay here again should I ever be in Coles Bay again. Highly recommend.
The location is very good, only few minutes drive to the national park. The food is very tasty and worth a try, both breakfast and dinner!! The bar has a very good view over the beach. You can order a drink and enjoy the sunset at the bar. The room is clean, comfortable, and well equipped. There’s a compact kitchen which has everything you need. Bathroom is spacious. Overall, it’s a very food hotel and I think the quality matches the price.
Location was astounding, had an incredible view of the Hazards. Very clean, lots of facilities/ utilities, close to all the cafes & grocery store. Phil, the manager, and Jeff both greeted me as I got off the bus. So kind & welcoming. Gave me a quick tour of Coles Bay, and set me up with a private driver in the area- Big Pete’s Seats. Super lovely town and great access to Wineglass Bay.
This property is in the perfect location for an exploring Coles bay . It’s amazing clean . It has everything you need . The beds are comfortable. Noise is not a problem, so peaceful Views are amazing. Walking distance to shops . I contacted the staff with bed requests less than 24 hours before check in and they had it sorted before we arrived . Much appreciated . Highly recommended.
Beautifully appointed 2 bedroom home. Bathrooms and bedrooms are spacious, modern and clean. Excellent kitchen and laundry facilities. Comfortable lounge room with a view to die for. Walking distance to General Store. Close to everything we wanted to see in Freycinet National Park. Absolutely lovely - highly recommended!
Rooms are exactly as pictured with amazing views. such a beautiful, quiet and peaceful spot. Very close to Freycinet National Park. Dinner in on-site restaurant was delicious. A wallaby visited us on our patio. We did not take advantage of the bikes and kayaks provided but probably would have had we stayed longer.
location is amazing looking towards coles bay. we stayed in an easter Sunday. Staff arranged for everyone a 3-course dinner and wine. The staff was amazing and very friendly, provided us with heaps of information about the area. they went and above. Thank you, would love to visit again.
Great location to explore the coast near and around Point Arthur. Fantastic view in the very best equipped place we have had on our trip in Tasmania. Better that our own home! BBQ, coffee machine and plenty of supplies and condiments. Host was very responsive.
The chalet was on the outskirts of the Coles Bay Area in a quiet location. It was spotlessly clean and very well equipped. The kitchen was excellent and the living area very comfortable. I really enjoyed my stay. Thank you.
Great lobby area, simple breakfast but was great go get it considering things don't open around Freycinet until later in the morning. Great fun games, and rooms were super comfy with a great view!
Staff were exceptionally helpful.
Location was great, being in Iluka. Tavern, Granite bar and food right next door. 10min walk to Coles Bay.
Porch of cabin had sea views.
Very close to freycinet national park and there is a couple of eateries right below the park itself. Cabin is spacious and comes with heater. Very comfortable.
