Our stay was very pleasant enjoyed the garden and the town.

Our stay was very pleasant enjoyed the garden and the town. I was very surprised to receive a rather negative phone call from the owner after we had left about my review of their property. And with this in mind I would probably not return to this property.

    What a lovely town!!!

What a lovely town!!! I wish we had longer there, we stopped over after leaving Kangaroo Island. So pretty and quiet, lots of antique shops and a car museum, It seems the whole town has been renovated. All the old buildings are in great condition and the gardens in the town are lovely. I hope I can get back there and stay a couple of nights.

We enjoyed walking around the interesting historic town and lovely gardens. There were a few interesting antique shops. We stayed at the Victoria Hotel, the room was good, clean and comfortable and we had lovely roast lamb for dinner in their bistro. A few cafes in town looked good, but we didn't get a chance to try them. Monarto Safari Park is about 30 mins drive away passing through lovely farmland. This is a great park but I think their safari bus (hop on hop off style) times could be worked better to not miss out animals.

Strathalbyn is such a lovely little town with the central park and all the lovely old buildings, its a shame we didn't have a bit more time, a 2-3 day slot would allow you to see all this area has to offer and its not far away from other great little areas. wonder the streets look at the old architecture, check out the Gilbert Motor museum ( WED - SUN) all the antique shops in town

Continental breakfast on our room was great. Comfortable bed, a big room and very clean. The room was quieter than we expected being a Saturday night at a pub! We were lucky to get a parking spot on site, as only 3 spaces available. They organised a booking for a table in the bistro and we had a lovely pub meal. The steak was good as was the roast of the day. It was busy in the bistro so we were glad reception suggested to book. We enjoyed our stay. The town is very historic with a lovely park, next time we will stay a bit longer to explore.

All of the makings were provided for a self catering breakfast, including lovely fresh eggs from the resident chickens. Self catering was good as you could have breakfast exactly when wanted at at your pace, and as much or as little as you liked. The standard of the accommodation was exceptional, with all needs catered for. The property is surrounded by magnificent gardens with lots of native birdlife. Our hosts Graham and Heather could not do enough to ensure our comfort. The property is well located in central Strathalbyn.

I booked this place as a little getaway for my partners birthday. We have not had a better experience! The hosts we’re lovely and accomodating. The place was spotless, welcoming and homely. The views were incredible, over looking the beautiful Strathalbyn. We sat on the front deck watching the sunrise accompanied by hot chocolate and blankets. We will definitely be back, it was the perfect reset that we needed !

The location of the cottages in a garden environment provided privacy and quiet. As well as being close to several tourist attractions - including the delightful village of Strathalbyn - it was also great for staying 'home' and reading a book.
