I booked a cabin here as a last minute booking while road tripping and realizing that I was done driving for the day and needed somewhere to lay my head for the night.
The distance from town was a little daunting, but I wanted something quiet and comfortable. I am so glad I went ahead and booked, because the scenic, dirt road drive here was absolutely stunning, with even a bear to pop out of the woods and greet me at the last km mark!
The owner was ready and waiting to show me to my cabin upon arrival and I couldn't have been more pleased. She had built up a tidy fire in the woodstove and it was a warm welcome after a long day driving.
I had my own private cabin on a beautiful piece of land with plenty of green, treed space around it.
The cabin itself was clean, immaculate and lovely, with all sorts of artistic touches to make it feel like home. It had a full, well stocked kitchen for cooking, a super comfy bed, and a cute little dining nook.
I honestly wish I'd had a few days to spend here to soak up the beautiful surroundings and the absolute quiet.
Yes, it's a long way from town (bring groceries with you!) and yes it has an outbuilding/outhouse for a toilet, but it was worth the drive, and the outhouse was the cleanest, nicest one I've ever seen!
I would definitely recommend this place for a quiet getaway in nature and I already have to a few friends!
Located 10 km outside of Smithers, Smithers Driftwood Lodge offers guests a sun terrace equipped with a BBQ. Scenic views of Hudson Bay Mountain and the Babine Mountains is enjoyed.

The surroundings were top notch, just stunning.! We want to make plans to have a group of us all rent out the cabins and stay. I most definitely would recommend to friends and family, it was such a relaxing time yet so much to do like hiking and skiing.
This Smithers motel offers free WiFi, free long distance calling, and easy access to Highway 16. Smithers Golf & Country Club is just 6 minutes' drive away.

Smithers, BC, exceeded my expectations with its charming atmosphere and excellent skiing options during my 3-day stay. The presence of a good brewery added to the experience, and the friendly locals further enhanced the city's appeal.

Unexpectedly cute and clean little town.
Unexpectedly cute and clean little town. Quite a few modern type establishments. Great little coffee shop in town centre. You have to try Two Sisters for healthy yummy food! The Mexican restaurant by the railway tracks is awesome. It is a mini Jasper or Banff.
The view from my room was world class - rolling hills with a backdrop of glorious, snow-capped mountains. Super peaceful and I am so glad I decided to drive the extra 10-15 mins off the beaten path (and the highway where most of the Smithers hotels are located) to find this hidden gem. Felt like European elegance meets Northern BC rusticity. Delish breakfast as well. If you want a good sleep, some peace and quiet, a beautiful view and a great breakfast, you couldn't do better than the Driftwood Lodge.
We enjoyed the peace and quiet and the sound of the river from our patio. Very clean and comfortable. Firewood well-stocked. Would have been nice to have coffee in the room and to see refillable shampoo/conditioner/soap dispensers instead of single use. Overall it was a lovely stay and a great value compared to hotels in Smithers.
Beautiful location about a 10-minute drive from Smithers. Absolutely worth staying out there for the fabulous lodge and the amazing scenery. We really enjoyed the main lodge room in the evening, with a pool table, games and comfortable couches to lounge and read. The host was wonderful and the breakfast was amazing!
Location on the hwy. Close to restaurants. The Tandori grill next door was great. Older hotel. Breakfast was very limited, depending on when you arrived. Hard boiled eggs, muffins, yougurt, bread, cereal. Coffee machine served lattes, capucinos, hot chocolate and coffee.
Great hotel for a one night stay.
Great price and wonderful staff. Super friendly and helpful. I stay here whenever I'm passing through the Smithers area. Right off the highway and beside Timmies!! Rooms are clean and comfortable with some offering for breakfast; muffins, coffee, cereal, etc.
Great Location if you're visiting Smithers. Shops, restaurants and grocery and the mall are within 5 minute walk. Parking space is available when traveling by car. Breakfast was very good. Amazing service by the staff who prepares egg dishes to your liking.
A great perk about this hotel is that it central to walk into the village and very close proximity to main strip and restaurants.
Value was excellent and I wish I had a chance to experience breakfast because they prepare the eggs for you.
Very pleasant host. The building itself is incredible - cool log cabin vibes with great views overlooking the fields and mountains around Smithers. Clean and comfortable. Also cute touch to have berries from the home garden for breakfast.
The staff was exceptional and extremely helpful. My stay was relaxing and I will 100% be recommending this hotel to lots of people. It was also very clean. I'm very impressed.
