A comfortable place to stay even for a group of people. Delicious breakfast with a various choice. We contacted the receeption to have a late check-in and we didn't have any problems with that.

Traditional hotel in an old building on the bank of the Vltava river with a view of the castle. Nice and large rooms with comfortable beds. Breakfast fresh and plentiful, if you want other meals, there is a restaurant on the groundfloor. Nice place to stay for a day or two when you plan to do some sightseeing in Southern Bohemia (and there is quite a lot to see nearby!)

The location is stunning. The food at the Pivovar was excellent, and so was the service there.

Small village in the midst of splendid forests and on a charming stream. Fly fishing seems the thing. Town has a nice castle on a hilltop. A few restaurants and cafes, but otherwise just peace and quiet

The Castle is extremely beautiful, with renaissance murals, and an excellent collection of furniture and art. The river and the surrounding countryside is stunning. Perfect for an activity holiday or a quiet break.

But for the fact that it is on our way from Prague to Croatia, and the hotel Studenec that is great, Romzberg is a bit backward. Hotel Ruze is to be avoided completely for restaurant and hotel, Pension U Martina is very poor (smelly rooms), Pension Royal is OK but expensive for the money.
Elsewhere, I saw a waitress caress smugly a very big dog while waiting for clients (no idea of regulations here) and the whole place looks a bit like hill billies country.

Despite much activity (e.g. hundreds on the river in small dinghies, canoes, etc.) and a popular resort for bikers, this is a lovely, restful place. It's an easy drive to Český Krumlov (and better accommodation prices are available here) but a day walking around this town & countryside, or spent gazing at the fast-flowing - but shallow - Vltava river is highly rewarding. A number of good restaurants - excellent food & beer - at very reasonable prices are easily accessible.

Nice and calm village with a few accommodation options to stay and eat. Perfect for those who don't like tourist crowded places. It is great starting point for visiting lower part of Czech Republic such as lake Lipno and Šumava forest or to go rafting or kayaking down the Vltava river. There is even a castle on a small hill above the village which is very nice and looks well preserved.

A unique hotel in a unique place. The atmosphere of the building is breathtaking. Room spacious clean. Buffet breakfast, there is something for everyone. The hotel restaurant is recommended. Very professional staff. I recommend the hotel and restaurants. We'll be back there for sure.
It was located on the river and we were canoeing. The facilities and rooms are fairly new and extremely clean. Huge breakfast area. On site restaurant which was very good. Bed and bedding were very comfortable. Hotel and restaurant staff were helpful and friendly.
Very friendly staff. Since we had a situation with very late check-in, the staff found a way for us to get to the hotel room.
The room met all expectations. The breakfast was very tasty.
A big thank you to the staff from me and the kids.
Amazing location with fantastic views to town center, castle and river, parking is next to the hotel - we could leave car longer after check out! :-) Comfortable beds. All perfect!
