It's a great place to stay with family and kids. The best part is the free entrance to the swimming area "aquarena". The kids loved it to be there. So if the weather isn't nice to see the animals or visit the parks you can just go the swimming area.

We could have stayed in Heidenheim a *little* (not "much")...
We could have stayed in Heidenheim a *little* (not "much") longer, to see the Roman museum, for example. The reason for the visit was a performance of Tannhäuser at the summer Opernfestpiele. It was very high quality, even though moved at short notice (actually, without any on-site notice at all) from the picturesque outdoor ruined-castle setting to a nearby conference centre. This actually benefited it in terms of acoustics.

Room was OK, pillows were awful, no airco in the room, winter blanket was on the bed (temp outside was 30deg C) so far the night. The breakfast was 1 big chaos. Clearly no 1 managing the staff. Bread was gone, coffee machine needed to be filled with beans so after 5mins I told someone, after it was refilled it stopped again after a few cups cause the tray needed to be emptied. Again the staff didn’t notice. They were all very busy without any structure, but too much was unseen.

Despite the extremely warm weather the room stayed relatively cool. The air in the room was fresh and there were no triggering odors (suitable for persons who get migraine easily). Good parking and was easy to come and go with own car. Also it takes about 30 minutes to walk to the center so you might not even need to use the car. Food in the restaurant was really good. Staff speaks English. I can warmly recommend this hotel and would gladly stay there again in the future.

Really nice guy at the reception who can help you with everything, super friendly with great advice (not used to this in germany hehe :-p). I got a free room upgrade which was very appreciated. Impeccably clean, you also get slippers, toiletries, water, everything :-) and there is fridge in the room. Will def come again!

The location is great. Right next to it there is a supermarket and in front of the hotel, parking space is available for free. You can park your car easily. Highly recommended for business trips. If you want to have a comfortable sleep, it is the right place.
