Sehr nettes Personal, sehr gutes lecker gegessen ...
I am very disappointed with this hotel. I arrived at 0.30 a.m. and the hotel was closed and no one opened for me. It was not stated on booking.com or on the hotel's website that the reception is closed from 10:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. and it is not possible to check in. It was also stated on the website that it is possible to cancel the reservation free of charge, but they charged me 49 euros for nothing and I had to find another hotel in the night and pay for it!. Very unprofessional service!

Wuppertal is a beautifull city surrounded by hills.
Wuppertal is a beautifull city surrounded by hills. The city is mostly known for the Schwebebahn. A hanging train that goes through the city as a metro but hangs mostly above the Wupper river. The city center is large and offers a lot of nice stores and restaurants.
Located next to Wuppertal is Solingen a city known for the Haribo candy factory and knifes factories (hence the name Solinger knives).
Take a ride along the Schwebebahn to Wuppertal Vohwinkel, you will pass the Wuppertal Zoo and stadion. From Vohwinkel take the Trolleybus line 683 to Solingen and you will pass along Haribo factory and different museums.

The only plus point for Wuppertal is the unique Scwebebahn suspended monorail. Well worth a ride. The place itself has deprived and dilapidated post industrial vibe, with older retired heavy industry workers and younger immigrants from all over. A fair amount of drunken/drugged indigents on the streets of the city centre.

Well if you are interested in Countryside and History then this valley of Wupper is a great place to visit. The industrial beginnings of Modern Germany pretty much starts here. We came because the suspension railway was on my bucket list. It really is a sensational marvel. We will probably come back... Even if it wasn't for this memorable trip on the Schwebebahn the town has hills and museums, an opera house and a good zoo. Oh the food is good too, try the X Kebab, a wonderful modern twist on Turkish cuisine served by the friendliest of staff...

Wuppertal schwebebahn is an awesome cheap way to explore the city. There is a lot to see and also great places to eat, like Hans im Gluck and L'Osteria and also good hiking opportunities in the surrounding hills.

Wuppertal had very few activities to do.
Wuppertal had very few activities to do. It is more of a place for relaxing in a valley while still staying in touch with the civilisation. The suspended tram was a great attraction and it was a great experience to ride on it.
Location was very close to the hiking paths within a beautiful wooded area.
The swimming pool was amazing and sauna was fantastic.
Staff was really welcoming and kind.
Pet friendly and children friendly hotel. Perfect for staying with the family and equally perfect for couples. The restaurant Goethestube serves typical local food and also has a dish called Knödel - exquisite.
Düsseldorf and Köln are easily reachable by car.
Tips for tourists: Wuppertal Schwebeban, the Neanderthal museum, the Zoo.
Free parking.
We were pleased with our stay at Hotel Astor. We arrived by train, so its location very close to the main train station suited us well. Although we arrived 1 1/2 hours before check-in time, the staff welcomed us and allowed us to check in early. Our room was clean and comfortable, we enjoyed a plentifiul hot breakfast, and the wifi worked well. The hotel also provided free VRR tickets that allowed us to ride the Schwebebahn. Best of all, Hotel Astor offered great value.
Very nice modernized old stylish hotel. We had a very spacious room on the 3rd floor with a very large bathroom and a large shower that is not typical in Europe. Excellent breakfast with made to order eggs in a very nice glass enclosed breakfast room. One of the best hotels we ever stayed at in the 13 European countries we have visited and 50+ hotels. Parking on site. We stayed in Ronsdorf to explore the city that my father and ancestors were born in.
The hotel reopened only recently after a profound refurbishing. I wish we could have stayed longer (we stayed one night only).
The personnel was extremely nice and helful. The young lady at the bar went out of her way to find a restaurant for us and guide our steps in the city. I use this occasion to forward to her my "VIELEN DANK"!
great location across from central rail station and bus terminal. Hotel changed names again recently and has become a cashless enterprise.
Close to restaurants and shopping mall. They kept the local transit pass for one’s stay, a big bonus. Breakfast options very good and endless

The apartment is very spacious, modern, and clean. All the amenities that you need are there. I liked the location, which is close to the Wuppertaler Schwebebahn (floating train), and it's still peaceful enough to get some rest. Overall, a nice place.
I enjoyed my short stay at Arcade Hotel. Location is great when needed to be close to the transport hub. I had a good sleep (liked the mattress in my room). Clean facilities, friendly staff, nutritious breakfast 🙏🏼❤️ All what os needed. Thank you!
Super new and modern hotel with very comfortable, fully-equipped and spacious rooms. The breakfast (which was included) was also really tasty and left nothing to be desired. Location close to Wuppertal station was especially convenient.
Great hotel: considerate and friendly staff, who prepared a cot for us, absolutely excellent breakfast, nice and spacious rooms and perfect location, right next to the monorail and the center of town.
Quiet place in Wuppertal in green surroundings. Comfortable rooms. Good self-service restaurant (make a reservation for your meals a few days before your stay). There's a city bus going to the hotel.
The hotel is clean, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the location is good. The renovation is well-done and stylish. The room was quiet, despite the street right outside-- German windows.
Good communication and English speaking receptionist, good-looking hotel. Cheap parking for only 5.50€. Very good location, shops and cafes nearby. Lovely city itself. Good breakfast.
