The reception staff, was a very friendly and serviceminded woman, it was a pleasure meeting her. As was the young woman who was servicing the small lobby bar/snack bar (described as restaurant, I believe).

The rooms were very comfortable and clean
The food for the evening meal was good. However, it was let down by breakfast facilities. Due to the lack of understanding by the staff, we ended up with toast and jam when we tried to order a full breakfast .

What an amazing find. Hosts were amazing and went out of their way to please. Sorted a luggage transport issue for me. Food was amazing both at dinner and breakfast. Great menu which catered for vegetarians. Room was perfect, beds comfy and everything spotlessly clean. Would give 15/10 if I could.

We were walking the Camino, so our expectation was not 4*, and stayed in a variety of hostels and Airbnbs, but this was the worst by some margin. and it was the only place we could get and the beds were reasonable. The place is situated on a Motorway A62 and is not easy to access from the west. The owner tried to be helpful. However, the whole experience was strange and a disappointment: we booked a twin and a double room, but were initially given four single; there was no heating in the bedroom and the hot water only came through the following morning; the dining room was unavailable to us, so we ate in the bar on food that was based on egg and chips - with additions (passable but not recommended). Later a large party of noisy pensioners arrived who were accommodated in the dining area and who kept us awake until late. No after walk shower, poor food, poor sleep and ambiance from hell.
I did not stay in the hotel I booked and had 4 confirmation by emails and booking reference
(2396676516). When I arrived at Hotel Rio Cabia I showed the guy on reception my confirmation email and reference. However it became quite obvious I didn’t have a reservation.
After some time and a number of phone calls I was asked to follow a lady in a car to another hotel. This was some 6 or 7 miles away. On arrival I discovered it wasn’t a hotel but a HOSTEL.
Convenient located next to motorway- you get fair amount of noise- clean rooms.
It is after all a basic motorway restaurant with hotel reflected in the service and the food-safe parking motorbike in a locked large garage - bonus point-at extra cost
Ideal location with easy access, dogs welcome and great walks just up the side of the hotel. Food was very tasty and your dog is allowed in the cafeteria. Comfortable rooms. Secure parking available at a cost which we took advantage off.
