Breakfast was ok, other than the Bacon which was just a ball of fat. Time to supply decent back Bacon!3

I had breakfast each morning which was fine.
The hotel (once I had found it!) was very handily located for the ferry port and had a very useful garage (given the appaling parking difficulty in the locality!). I was also able to keep my bike in the garage.

Reception was efficient but with limited English – we’re not complaining, we are in Spain. We were shown to our room, 210, which sizewise and facilities was very good. The bathroom was spacious with good lighting and mirrors with a good shower. The 12 mile wide TV was typically only in Spanish with no international channels. We went down to the Reception and informed them the air conditioning was not working properly and the room was extremely hot. They explained to us, and we find this bizarre, that the hotel can only have the air con circulating on either hot or cold and at the moment because it is October it is stuck on hot. No help to us, we’ve never come across this in all our travels. However, we asked if he had any solution like a fan and he put a large floor standing fan in the room for our use and that resolved the situation. We did try opening the window to let some air in. However, our room was immediately above the fuel tanker station and garage and the diesel fumes were somewhat overpowering. We didn’t try the restaurant and it seems that nobody else was either. It was a bit on the expensive side we thought so we walked down the road and found a wonderful little tapas bar which was just what we needed. We didn’t have the breakfast but we did look into the dining area and for under 4 euros you could have had a basic coffee, orange juice, tapas type sandwich.
My gratitude and thanks go to the hotel receptionist who was very attentive and helped me with my PCR paperwork. I believe her name was Iratxe Rivas from the name on my emails, nothing was too much trouble she was very polite. Thank you .... hotel was in a great spot petrol station next door and had a restful nights sleep ...parking was a bonus too .
Did not have breakfast due to early morning ferry back to UK. The staff were friendly and helpful. Used this hotel for an overnight stop due to convenience to the ferry port. The hotel was clean and in good condition and had secure underground parking. Had the menu del dia evening meal which was good value at 11euros.
Located less than 20 minutes from Ferry, easy to find. Very friendly staff (limited English but not a problem). The rooms and restaurant were clean and comfortable. Food was good and reasonably priced. There was secure parking at the hotel, which was one of the reasons why we chose it.
Stayed the one night before an early start to get the ferry. Lovely hotel with great staff. Room really comfortable and not too far a walk into the local suburb of Trapagarango. Did not try the breakfast due to early start. Underground parking for motorcycle was a bonus.
- Parts of the hotel and our room had modern amenities and upgrades
- underground parking
- walking distance to downtown train. Only took 20 mins to get downtown
- did not encounter too much traffic in Ortuella
Functional modern hotel. not the most scenic location but very conveniently placed near ferry port. A nearby train station, Orioste, brings you into the centre of Bilbao in less than 30min. Receptionist very helpful.
Good option to stay if you travel by ferry. Parking is free, inside the hotel. New furniture and good equipment of the room. Good WIFI signal. Apparently safe and calm, ex-industrial area.
