We had hoped to take a bus into Granada to avoid driving in but unfortunately the hotel was not quite as convenient for Granada as we had hoped. Buses were unpredictable and few and far between. We ended up having to drive in anyway but it was fairly easy and parking was OK. The owner gave us good instructions about which car park to aim for ( sorry I have forgotten which one now). I didn't meet the owner and so our comms were via text in Spanish. I don't speak Spanish so had to do quite a lot of Google translate. It worked OK.
There is a communal kitchen and sitting area downstairs if you want to take and cook your own food. We didn't. We ate in Granada and also used a local restaurant in Zubia once - not terribly close and uphill - not easy for us to walk, so we drove. The restaurant was recommended by the hotel owner and it was OK.
This was not the best experience but it wasn't the worst either. Value for money is the best way I can describe it. We had some awful issues with ridiculously loud banging from the heating ( twice) in the evenings but the owner responded immediately and was very apologetic - presumably this was repaired after we left.
Cumbres Verdes Apartments are set in the Sierra Nevada National Park, just 20 minutes’ drive from Granada. They feature a seasonal outdoor pool, free Wi-Fi zone and panoramic countryside views.

La Zubia can be considered a “dormitory” town for Granada city, located just 15 minutes’ drive away at the base of the Sierra Nevada mountains in the National park.
It is a pleasant and clean town with a welcoming atmosphere.
El Balcon de las Nieves hotel is a converted family home in the upmarket area of Cumbres Verdes, above La Zubia town.
This is a perfect base for exploring numerous villages and the general enchanting countryside within Granada province.

A great place to stay for those traveling in the south of Spain. It is quiet and calm. Very close to the crowded Granada. The view of the mountains is extraordinary. There is no such place anywhere else on Earth.
The location is ideal. Just a short drive into Granada and only a few minutes into La Zubia centre. I loved the fact that you can park right outside the front door of your own private cottage. The property is rustic but spotlessly clean, and the beds are brand new and extremely comfortable. Something I didn't expect, but was grateful for, was the central heating.
You are surrounded by nature, which my dog absolutely loves, so we did some good, long walks.
I would definitely recommend it and would definitely stay here again.
We stayed for 2 nights and were really pleased with the quite location at the foot of the Sierra Nevada, nestled in an almond tree orchard with lots of stunning sunsets/sunrises and views over Granada/La Zubia. A great starting point for hikes. The apartment had a small terrace and allowed for breakfast in the sunshine and dinner at sunset. The kitchen had everything we needed for self-catering and the living room was spacious. We really enjoyed our stay & would have loved to stay longer.
Very spacious 1-bedroom apartment, with all that you need to feel right at home. The communication with the host was super easy, access to the property and other details are clearly explained. Hot water, clean rooms and kitchen, and nice decorations.
From the apartment you have easy access to the buses going into Granada's center (a bus every 30 minutes or so). It was very convenient to park our car in front of the building and then go to Granada by bus.
Excellent, characterful small hotel. Exceptionally tranquil with lovely restaurant terrace, close to all amenities. Very helpful and friendly staff (especially Monica and Jorge and the new Mexican owner) . Great menu for evening dining on a beautiful, romantically lit terrace. Good security with key access during the day to the entrance gates. Spotlessly clean, rooms serviced every day. Easy parking in the close locality. Most importantly Dog friendly
This apartment is a really good value and great for a young family as it has 2 bedrooms and a fully stocked kitchen and living area. There's also a washing machine, but you have to hang the wash on an expandable rack outside the master bedroom window. Still, the clothes dry pretty quickly on a hot sunny day. If your goal is to tour Granada, stay in Granada. It's hard to park in town and it's a $15-20 Uber each way.
This accommodation was extremely convenient for a last minute booking. It is self-check in and the host communicated every detail perfectly then was available for further questions. It includes a modern, well-stocked communal kitchen, a living room and a spacious outdoor patio. Every part of the building was well maintained and clean. The price is very competitive with anything this close to Grenada.
Property is very private and surrounded by wonderful gardens and pool. Our host, Pepa, was extremely friendly and helpful and made us feel completely welcome. The property is also just a 15-20 minute drive into the centre of Granada and plenty of buses pass by. If we visit Granada again, we will definately be looking to stay in Rincon de Pepa.
The hotel is located in Sierra Nevada park, the view from the rooms is amazing! We appreciated the proximity to the hiking trails and friendliness of the owner and the staff. The hotel does not have a "proper" restaurant, but there is a home-made breakfast included and one can also pre-order dinner from the menu.
The view from the room overlooking Granada was superb. And only a 15 minute walk away, fab views over the sierra nevada. The evening meal was simple, but delicious. As was the breakfast. Good beds, very lovely hosts, and when you enter the hotel, there is a welcoming and warm feel to the place.
Nestled amidst the serene forested mountains, this hotel offers a tranquil escape from busy life. The staff are sweet and attentive, the food delicious, and the rooms spotlessly clean. Plus, there's an adorable dog adding to the charm. A perfect retreat for those seeking peace and relaxation.
A short drive away from the hustle/bustle of the city without feeling overly remote. Great place to relax and enjoy Granada and the surrounding towns and hiking paths and trails. Fantastic breakfast and great great dinner options,
Very friendly owner with a lot of information of the surroundings of La Zubia. Location very good to visit Alhambra (only 15min by car) or just explore La Zubia. Room & Kitchen very clean!
Vicky was just absolutely lovely, made us feel at home. The hotel is beautiful, comfy and has this lovely pool.
La Zubia's bars are close (5 min drive, 20 min walk). Certainly recommend!
The location is amazing. We love nature. After snowboarding in Sierra Nevada it was wonderful to return to this oasis of peace, the cottage was nice and warm too.
