It was a little walk to La Conquise however the view from our room over the town was breathtaking! Lovely room and home and breakfast…chatting with other guests and Ghislaine. She was a wonderful host. Interesting to see the walkers on their pilgrimage in the town.

Enjoyed spending the evening in Conques surrounded by walkers and no cars. There was an extremely spiritual aura of the town. Watching the illumination of the outside porche of the church at sunset after a half hour detailed description of the Catholic carvings was électrique.

We found our stay at Conques to be a really fascinating stopover- quite isolated and very beautiful. There was a rustic charm to everything and the people were really open and friendly. We ate at one of the larger restaurants right across from the cathedral and a pitstop for the travellers on the Compostela. You have to park and walk a very short distance to the town but its organised and doesn't cost too much. I would plan where to eat earlier in the day as it was a last minute choice for us.
