This 19th-century hotel is surrounded by a 2-hectare park. It is 7.4 km from Bordeaux city centre and 6.8 km from Saint-Jean Train Station.

This historic Chateau is magnificent - it’s like going back in time. She needs a little TLC here and there but the experience is amazing and the price is very reasonable. We found the restaurant to be excellent as well. All in all, hard to fault.
Set in Floirac and with Stone Bridge reachable within 3.3 km, SAMANKE lOUNGE offers a restaurant, non-smoking rooms, free WiFi throughout the property and a bar.

Parking in front of the guesthouse.
It had a good African restaurant in the facility.

Like many of the reviewers, we stayed here for one night to attend a concert in the Arena. There are not many hotels and apartments in the newly developing area around the Arena. It looked complicated to travel to the location by public transport although we are very familiar with the city of Bordeaux and always stay closer to the city centre. This accommodation is an easy and safe ten minute stroll to the Arena. Our overall impression was that the apartment is OK for a one night stay, and very reasonably priced. We agree with most of the comments made by other guests, where their small concerns should be related to the price and location of their stay.
The owner was charming when he phoned to give us the door code number - he speaks good English too. If I were he, I would spend half a day at the property doing little improvements to promote the review rating to an 8/9 level. Specifically, install a couple of hooks on a wall for coats and clothing (there is nowhere to put these), install the smoke alarm properly, add a bottle opener to the kitchen utensils, replace the door knob on the bathroom door, leave a note that the bathroom light switch hides behind the sliding door, have a bedside lamp to soften the atmosphere from the single bare centre lamp, and write an instruction for the WiFi and TV operation. All that would cost very little, improve the rating and I guess he could easily increase the night's price by €10 and have even happier customers.
I have another comment about parking the car - see below
Floirac is an empty town. If you would like to visit Bordeaux it is perfect, since it is easy to take the car there. In 15-20 minutes you are in the centre of Bordeaux! In Floirac there are no stores, no cafes, no restaurants,... But you can find a beautiful hotel in Floirac that is cheaper than staying in Bordeaux centre itself. We stayed in Chateaux La Cheze, which was beautiful.

The rooms in the main building are good although you do need a torch to read as the lighting is abismal with black walls.Very good bathroom The rooms in the stable block are spacious but again the lighting is abismal with a black wall and if it is hot you cannot open the windows as it is on the ground floor. The air conditioning did not work when we stayed there the night of 10th June The food in the restaurant was excellent however there is no food available at the weekends.
It was an ideal position when needing a nights rest when travelling further
The greeting from staff when we entered the hotel was warm and friendly, and explanations of what was nearby including food were very helpful. The room though compact had everything you could want - the bed and pillow were comfortable and everything was clean. Didn't hear any noise overnight, even though we were by a very busy road. The breakfast food was fresh, with lots of choice, sweet and savoury available. So pleased we found this hotel, perfect for a stop over on the way to the Pyrenees, and will definitely be back!
The room was comfy and clean, the reception/bar area was clean and very stylish. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The hotel was quite close to the highway and our room over looked it but you couldn't really hear any noise from it.
A really effort to make the hotel eco friendly was really great with recycled furniture and reduced plastic waste.
For a over night stay just off the high way en route to a destination it was perfect.
About a 10/15 minute drive into Bordeaux depending on traffic.
We booked this hotel because it was close to Arkea Arena which was having a concert we planned to attend. The hotel reminded us somewhat of a semi-hostel accommodation, but in a good way. The room was small as was the bathroom, bed was comfortable Overall, we liked the place and of course, its location was perfect for us. Also, it had ample parking which was important to us.
One of the best hotels i have stayed in in our travels, lovely authentic rooms and grounds to relax in.Wonderful very helpful staff who go out of there way to help especially Eugene who we interacted with the most. Our group all have said the same and will advise friends and family to stay if they come to Bordeaux.
I used the hotel twice during a long motorbike trip. Location was perfect for me as it was close to a main road on my route so I like the location but it might not be good to visit Bordeaux. I just needed a clean room, secure parking and a favorable location and for that this hotel was perfect.
The location is very far from the city center, if you want to go back from the city center, you will be miserable. It was a beautiful hotel, but it is only good for someone who has a car.
Great hotel. Very warm throughout the hotel which we found excellent. Lovely grounds. The majority of the staff were excellent. Good secure parking within the grounds of the hotel.
