The apartment was very clean and comfortable with all modern conveniences. The location was brilliant with everything I needed right on the doorstep. The owner was great as I arrived late at night and they met me outside the apartment. Parking was conveniently over the road.

The city center is very nice.
The city center is very nice. I's organized with care and love. We didn't have time to visit the fortress but it looked very impressive from outside. The city park is very beautiful, nice and calm. A nice place for a walk.PavelSweden - 10Scored 10

Beautiful historic city. We were just passing through, but discovered a really picturesque town to which we would gladly return. Off season for us, so the castle only had restricted opening hours, but the walk around the outside was more than adequate. Plenty of free parking around town.

Lots of fantastic views and old stone buildings. A well signed posted walking route covers all the places of interest in an easy way. Still worth visiting in depths of winter. Fougeres is a medium sized historic town with an incredible medaeval castle, lovely architecture and good restaurants and shops. The location is also accessible to interesting towns and villages that are well worth exploring. My husband and myself stayed for three nights to break our onward journey and thought this was about the right length of time to spend there. We would definitely recommend it.

The views over the castle were amazing. The beds super-comfy. Lucille was the perfect host and her breakfast was devine. Not having parking was not a problem. There are so many places to park on road nearby and the neighborhood is super-safe, friendly and quiet. Fougeres is a beautiful town that is well suited for families and couples alike and this hotel is the best we've ever stayed in.

Fougares overall wasn't what I expected, too big and not quaint enough. Not the fault of the property, which really is in a lovely area.
