English speaking girl. So helpful. Would have been a nightmare without her.
In the middle of the oyster region off the Bay of Biscay, Hotel Phoebus is 4 km from the Ronce-les-Bains beach and 7 km from La Coubre forest. A patisserie and tea shop is under the hotel.

La Tremblade is an old fishing village where oysters are supreme. The outdoor Saturday market is extensive and well-attended and the 1864 fish market building is more than would ever have been imagined. The everyday boutiques are traditional French and well stocked (bread, pastries, cheese, meat) and the atmosphere in the central city is engaging.

Ronce les Bain just a few KM further up the coast is a great small resort with lots of choice for food, good bars and a great spot for a few nights. Lots of beaches to choose from even choice of Atlantic view or estuary.

Lots of lovely restaurants and easy striking distance for lots of beaches/towns and chateaux.
The only downer is Bordeaux airport which had a dreadful hangar for easyjet/ryanair travellers.
Worst airport we have ever been to,
The location and room were exactly what we expected. Parking for our bicycles was provided. The hotel is close to la Tremblade and Ronce les Bains so is very convenient. Unfortunately when we arrived the aircon was broken - nobody's fault, but we were fully informed before checking in, and they offered to find us another hotel.
Good location in La Tremblade, near market and a few bars at the end of the street.
There are a few shops where to buy food.
Owner was chatty and very friendly.
