Langres is worth a trip to see the fortifications.
Room was a good size, with character.Bed very comfy.Parking provided at€10 overnight or street parking available.
Dinner was good, if not outstanding.
Fish tartare underseasoned, for my taste, and Porc Parmentier would have benefited from some fresh green vegetables to go with the meat and potatoes.
Cheese choice was excellent..
Extensive wine list (but most out of our price range) but the cheapest was good for us! .
We would stay again.

Beautiful property situated in a gorgeous part of Langres. The apartment was decorated in such a quirky way, with vintage finds everywhere.
I loved the fact that the owner left my children some chocolates and other treats as well as placed vintage toys to capture our 3 year old attention.

We arrived in the dark & left before daylight, so not best placed to review the town, apart from an excellent local bar/restaurant that was able to accomodate 11 at very short notice for a very good supper!

We only stayed one night but walking around the centre were able to find a small hotel/restaurant for a meal that assisted in providing food that suited my food allergy. It seemed a pleasant and historic place with a variety of shops and attractive Xmas illuminations. We intend to return for a slightly longer stay.

Langres is a stunning medieval city at its heart.
Langres is a stunning medieval city at its heart. It is surrounded by almost intact medieval city walls - well worth walking around. Inside the walls it is a charming place with lots of old buildings and very little traffic. There is clearly more outside the walled medieval centre but I simply did not have time to explore further. For those less obsessed by medieval history there are nice bars decent restaurants and it is very peaceful. Deserves to be more than a stop of point travelling somewhere else and next time I will stay a couple of days.

Langres is a pleasant small town with hilltop cathedral within a medieval city wall. Nice town to wander around, especially around the ramparts (views), but we did feel there was a lot of traffic down the narrow streets at times. We found two free car parks. Would have benefitted from more pedestrian only areas. Lovely long avenue park just beyond south side of city walks - good for dog walk or just to chill. Still, worth a half day visit if you're in the area. Plenty of restaurants etc. Tip: We preferred Laon (also with medieval hilltop cathedral) further north up the autoroute, about 25kms north of Reims!

Lovely rural fortified town in Eastern France.
Lovely rural fortified town in Eastern France. Great stopover if travelling by car to the French or Swiss alps.
The old town is full of independent little shops selling quality goods. Parking can be tricky in the town, but there are large public parking areas on the outskirts of the old town.

Langres is a very picturesque medieval walled town full of charm.
It is like a forgotten gem and oh so typically French with cafes, retaurants, small shops, antiques, etc. The buildings are old, but full of charm.
We are artists and this place is an artist’s dream location!
We will definitely return and stay at the same hotel - this time for many days.
A warm and friendly welcome from this small family-run hotel right in the middle of Langres. Booked as a one night stopover, breaking a long drive down to the Alps. We liked the dinner we had in the restaurant, and there was a good range of options on offer at the continental breakfast the following morning too (10 euros per adult; children free). We liked being able to park the car in the walled/secure area behind the hotel. We liked the setup of the family room we had with its two adjoining bedrooms.
We chose the Hotel de la Poste at the last minute as we were tired driving North up France. We liked the sound of it, and of Langres. We were SO pleased with our choice! A really warm reception from the owner, easy parking, a nice room with a brand new bathroom and a really excellent, thoughtful, breakfast. We had a good dinner in town too - and the town is lovely. One of those random stops which you remember for years.
Host Lucie is very attentive and responds quickly to messages/questions. She made it possible to place our bikes in a securely locked bicycle shed on the premises. Perfect.
The apartment itself is quiet, spacious and bright. The bed is excellent. Location (outside Langres centre) was perfect for us, as we arrived by train and it's just a 10 minute walk from the railway station.
Check-in, furniture and design of the room and whole hotel, the bed (large and super comfy), pet friendly, location, breakfast, pool with terrace (could not use due to late arrival/weather, unfortunately 😕). The view from the room and from inside the bed was fantastic!!! - great way of waking up!
Clean, tidy, well appointed and everything we needed.
Location is superb - couldn't be more central.
Langres is fascinating, one way streets are labyrinthine and street parking before 5.30pm can be problematic.
The main carparks on the Southern side of town are free and plenty of spaces.
A beautiful traditional hotel in the heart of a fascinating and atmospheric town heaped in history.
Secure and convenient car parking, and a fantastic breakfast. We stayed for one night only as we travelled north to Rotterdam, but we would happily be have stayed for longer.
Very comfortable, large rooms, practical garage, nice terrace with flowers and evening lighting. Nearby we visited Tufière de Rolampont, Mausolée Gallo-romain de Faverolles, Abbaye d'Auberive, Source de L'Aube, Source De La Marne and of course the hill town of Langres.
Our room was in the main part of the Hotel and was very charming AND pet friendly.
Even better was that our 2 dogs were allowed in the Dining Room.
The Dinner was excellent although a bit pricey. Unfortunately, we didn't have time to stay for breakfast.
The breakfast was good and the room had a lot of light. The hotel is central and the restaurant was good. The staff very pleasant and friendly. The room was very spacious. They followed up the COVID regulations!
A lovely hotel in a great location in the centre of town (but quiet). The restaurant features regional cuisine and we enjoyed our meal there (book, some were turned away the night we dined).
The ambience and location, and our wonderful hostess who looked after us so well. Comfortable bed and spacious rooms. We look forward to returning to this quirky, idiosyncratic hotel.
Nice atmosphere in the hotel, staff very friendly, easy free parking, easy access on the edge of the town, breakfast good. OK for overnight stay. Clean.
