Loved the quirkiness of the accommodation- it was a large barrel type cabin . We had everything we needed- fridge , hot plates , microwave. The bathroom was well equipped and everything was scrupulously clean. The surroundings were lovely we had our own outside space with both picnic table and relaxing chairs . We took our two dogs so it was perfect . There were barbecuing facilities which we made full use of and a large games room with ping pong and a chill out area if the weather wasn’t good & you didn’t want to stay in your cabin. Games etc for children . Glamping at it’s very best . Will definitely be returning and hopefully taking our family. The owner, Geraldine, was amazing- really kind and couldn’t do enough for us ( without being too intrusive) Lovely, lovely holiday.

Very clean, comfortable and homely. Marcos, the host was exceptional. A real gentleman who went above and beyond. He offered a lovely evening meal with some local wines for a very reasonable price. I enjoyed the authenticity of staying a small rural village. Perfect stop for fellow cycle tourists.
Charming guest rooms and tables in Anjou A seigneurial look: in the heart of the Layon vineyard, a 16th century manor with timeless materials: falun stone, wood, slate...

quaint old house nicely furnished and decorated. Parking on site. Simple breakfast of local products - bread, jam and cheese. Bakery nearby in the tiny village. They have a stuffed fish that was gifted to them by Gerard Depardieu who lives nearby.

Very nice restaurant. Ground floor spacious room with outlook to the attractive garden.
Not a lot to do in Montilliers itself. It is little more than a drive thru village. There was a bar that sold food but it was all pizzas , paninis etc. not what I call French food .Unfortunately the other restaurant had closed due to Covid. There are lots of vineyards to visit in the surrounding area . We ate in the small neighbouring villages & towns. Saumur is definitely worth a visit or two, lots to see & absolutely beautiful. The chateau is breathtaking and you can walk along the river. Gennes Val de la Loire was also a great find. Lovely little streets to meander round, cycle paths for families. Wonderful restaurant called La poulet Pauline - staff & food outstanding. We went back to eat there again on out last day. Great starting off point to explore the region.
