A perfect staying whether you spend a holiday or just for a stopover. Lovely hoasts, great accomodation, excellent breakfast with natural, home made products (you should very much try the home made apricot gem with lavander🪻- absolutely delicious). The rooms are cozy, very well balanced between the modern of the interior and the rural aspect of the exterior (great job with the restauration of the old buildings). The aspect is, at the first sight, of an old french farm but the interiors and the backyard are very modern with the pool, the kids playground or the designated place to play pétanque. Superb.
The surroundings are great, history, culture, landscapes and nature. They have alpacas in the premises, for kids fun. Everything is on driving distance so be prepared, if you go visiting to use the car.
All in all, one thing - perfect.
We will definitely come back!

Owners very lovely and friendly. The location was perfect for the visits we wanted to make. The owners recommended we visit the chateau in the village and it was a mesmerising moment.
Le Claveau is located in the Brenne Natural Regional Park. Set in Château du Claveau, this guest house offers a large garden and a large twin room with a fireplace, exposed beams and a luster.

The reason for the poor rating is that although you accepted the booking they were away and we were not admitted. We had to find an alternative in the dark, with a large van, and in a totally unknown area.
A former farm house turned into a holiday home, Gite Des Etangs offers self-catering cottages, a garden, a terrace, table tennis, and free bikes are available on site.

Beautiful situation adjacent to the fine chateau of Le Claveau; we enjoyed the walks around the nearby lakes and the astonishing birdsong morning and evening. The host Colette was most welcoming and generous, and we would would return in spring. It is an excellent centre to explore the northern Brenne region with ready access to the bird watching places and heritage sites.

Unique place with wonderful and helpful host Sally. The Appartment is amazing, I have never seen so well equiped kitchen before in booking staff. The space is more than huge, the bathroom very big, everything excelent and stylish, new and clean. There is Garage for your car and nice privat garden with table sitting included, night is super peaceful without any noice. I only can recomend this booking.

Easy to get around by car - 4 cars on the road was rush hour. Great bakery in Merziere and good little supermarket - very friendly owner. The grounds of the property were great for walking with a number of tracks from the property or near by. The lakes were within 30 minutes drive and full of birds. The breakfast is a real bonus. For wildlife lovers the Brenne area is superb.
