It was a stunning location and the host was extremely welcoming (but only speaks French unfortunately for me!). It is definitely a 'get there by car' type of place alternatively you could probably hike there with a bit of planning as it is situated in a beautiful forest around a lake.
The room is picturesque and you can see her creative flair which is lovely. Its both cosy and spacious in the room. Our bathroom was upstairs and it was well laid out and had everything you would need. We were also travelling with a medium dog. She welcomed our pet and has two dogs and a cat of her own. We did keep the pets separated but it was all part of the experience of staying in someone else's space. The host ended up making us a surprising and exceptional meal from the veg and herbs in her garden because the only local restaurant was closed (still a drive away). I would also recommend going for her breakfast as she makes all her own jams (also some of her own teas) and the pancakes were very yummy.
All in all it's a quirky place with a fantastic home built design. I was absolutely delighted by the whole experience and have already recommended it!

This Budget Ibis was much nicer than the one we stayed in Paris. It was relatively new, the room was larger and better equipped (bigger TV). Thus it just had a nicer vibe!

This hotel is a little gem. It is a budget hotel that delivers excellent value. The reception staff were so helpful and welcoming, speaking excellent English. The breakfast was good value and we also had the evening meal which was fine for the price we paid.

Great place for hikers or people wanting somewhere to hideaway. I think they also offered yoga sessions (and possibly meditation/massages) when booked in advance.
Its a stunning location and a really quirky complex. We went at the end of summer when it was a little cooler and perfect weather to explore the surrounding forests and the stunning lake. I would imagine it is also gorgeous in high summer or deep winter too.
The host is wonderful and I can't fault her. She is quirky and extremely hospitable. I only wish I could speak French to converse more with her!
The room we stayed in was a cool design, the sort of thing you could find in magazines or on instagram and the bed was comfortable. There were all the comforts we needed ie. soap, clean linens, towels and the room came quipped with a small electric heater.
I would recommend taking your own food or asking her to cook for you (at an extra cost) because the town is a bit far away and across wind-ey narrow paths through the national park. Don't rely on being able to 'pop out' to grab some food, the place really is hidden in the middle of the forest!
Also recommend taking comfortable shoes for walking/hiking and/or a car to go further afield.
