Breakfast was basic but sufficient. There was a restaurant next for an evening meal.
The ibis Styles Pontivy hotel is located at the gates of picturesque Pontivy. We are located half way between Rennes-Brest and Vannes-St Brieuc, between the Channel and the Atlantic Ocean.

We were on a motorbike trip. Easy access and parking are high on our priority list. Ibis budget was our choice but no twin rooms available. For £5 extra the standard of the room was well worth it…. Style will be our first choice in future

Family run hotel in the historic centre of Pontivy in a beautiful 19th century building with many authentic features. Superb attention to detail from friendly owners. Private parking is available at the rear of the hotel in the garden. Good breakfast. Would highly recommend a stay here.

A quiet riverside medieval town with an attractive tourism office aboard a canal boat! However, we went in August during the French holidays and almost all the good restaurants and some shops were closed for their vacances! We did find a very good Chinese buffet restaurant out of town, but we had been hoping to try French cuisine!

The old town by the river is pretty, as is the castle.
The old town by the river is pretty, as is the castle. But we struggled to find anywhere decent to eat. Best meal we had was actually at McDonalds, and the locals agreed as it was much the busiest eaterie we went to, so much for la gastronomie.
A cute quaint cottage just a little outside the town of Pontivy.
The cottage was well equipped for all our needs, modern cooking facilities and bathroom. Lovely outdoor areas and garden. There's a trail (10 mins)just outside the door that leads to the town and joins the canal Brest- Lorient route.
Shopping is quite near however you would need transport. Lidl supermarket is just 5mins drive.
The area is an ancient country village with just a few houses and a large Church with a few wooded trails nearby.
A typical IBIS Budget hotel - nothing wrong. You get what you pay for every time. The room was small but clean, staff were great, especially the house-keeper. BUT, spending more than one night in a IBIS Budget has become impossible for us & this was our last multi-night stay in the chain of hotels. The 70x95cm toilet with crepi on the walls, just to add to the torture chamber feel, has just become impossible to put up with - grazed knees & elbows for the trip home..
An absolutely brilliant hotel. Very well located in lovely Pontivy, perfectly comfortable en-suite rooms, excellent private parking, great beer and best of all, the most friendly, accommodating and helpful staff for which one could ever wish. We only scratched them surface of our exploration of Brittany and we will be back for sure. Thank you to Amelie and all her colleagues - you made the trip really special for us, thank you so much :-). Phil.
Superb location, a few minutes from the old town of Pontivy. Lots of lovely forest walks, wildlife such as deer, owl, jays, buzzards etc. Real old world feel. Francois and Elizabeth were wonderful and could not have been more helpful. Warm welcome and provided all that is needed for a lovely stay in Pontivy / Morbihan.
It was an all round great experience. From making the initial booking, and the subsequent correnspondence with the hotel, to the arrival, the easy check-in and the friendlyness we were greated with and the subsequent helpfulness regarding restaurants, to the easy 'check-out' at departure. Everything went very smoothly.
Exceptional. Perfect for business or tourist travel in Pontivy and Morbihan. The hostess was very helpful and accommodating. The house is spotless and the breakfast plentiful. Highly recommended.
This is not an anonymous hotel experience. You are welcomed into a simple family home by kindly Marie who does her very best to make your stay comfortable. Perfect location.
