No words enough to describe this little gem. A warm welcome by Yvonne, the owner, together with her cute little dog & witty cat. Once settled a refreshment was waiting for me with some mjammy nibbles.
Enjoyed the tranquility and peace at the pool and of course a lively chat with my hostess.
Once night time arrived not only I could enjoy listening to the lullabies from the nightinggale but once under the duvet i discovered a little bag of lavender. Such a delicate touch!!
The next morning a lovely french breakfast was served with a healthy Dutch twist! ;)

From Melanie on reception, to the restaurant staff the service was exceptional. The bedrooms were clean and comfortable. The restaurant deserves a Michelin star the food and service was that good. This hotel has a great team who understand hospitality at the highest level.

I have overnighted at Relais de Barbezieux many, many times. It is important to remember that first and foremost it is a Truckers' Stop, a superb one. It represents very good value for money as long as you are not looking for a four-star hotel.

Although a small village community it was a lot more lively than other areas that we have visited. The local people were very friendly and there is the choice for a quiet, relaxing stay combined with the opportunities to visit local traditional and also cosmopolitan towns and villages. An ideal area for those looking for a traditional French holiday. Highly recommended area.
