Friendly and sociable hostess (who also speaks excellent English) makes a point of welcoming and seeing off guests personally on arrival and departure. I was offered (at the booking stage) the option of an evening meal but I don't eat in the evening. Other guests evidently enjoyed the meal occasion. Room (bedding) and ensuite (towels) were tip-top. Location is quiet and peaceful in this renovated farmstead. Breakfast (continental) was modest (tea/coffee, juice, yoghurt, breads.pastries and choice of jams), coffee was good.

I stayed at the apartment when attending the Circuit Historique de Laon with my classic MG. Itwas in a super location on the main square in a quiet village around 7.5km from Laon. Free parking was available in the square outside the apartment and the village had a small supermarket, a super boulangerie and a filling station. Driving into Laon was very easy.
The apartment is superbly refurbished, with a large and spacious living area, a well fitted kitchen, good bedroom and excellent shower room. The host, Paulo, gave clear directions to access the apartment and the key box. It really was an excellent place to stay.

We were the only guests; made very welcome and left to pic-nic in the dining room/kitchen. Wonderfully quirky decoration to bed room and bathroom.

An excellent stop over. Location was close to the motorway but was quiet and had good parking. Aga was very welcoming and considerate. She spoke excellent English and provided a very good evening meal as well as breakfast.

We had a very warm welcome. The property is very well kept and looks very pretty. The host offers an evening meal which is good value and was excellent. The parking was on the property, behind gates that were closed in the evening and overnight. Very secure.
The property was easy to find and will certainly stay for longer on our next visit.

It is such a nice place it felt wrong just staying one night. We felt guilty leaving but our journey down to Nice meant we could not stay longer. It would be a lovely place for a stay of 3 to 4 nights. So close to some beautiful places.

St Croix is a small French village in the heart of the countryside. We found many places to walk. It is also close to Laon with it's magnificent Cathedral. We did not eat out as our B and B provided an excellent four course dinner.

An excellent first taste of France for a stopover en route.
An excellent first taste of France for a stopover en route. Equally I would happily stay again for two or three nights to explore the war sites and visit the Champagne area.
Good dog walking from the door.
