Everything about this little apartment was perfect — from the gracious welcome by the host, to the adorable and thoughtful setup of the space, to the generous and quality linens and materials throughout. The superb location made exploring Salies easy and quick, and there was never an issue finding parking closeby.

Salies de Bearn was lovely, architecture was gorgeous and the Christmas decorations around town were lovely. Unfortunately there was not much open on 24 and 25 December, something that was very disappointing as a tourist. So sanwiches and wine for 2 nights running was not what we had expected or were looking for. I think many towns don't think about people who are away from home and would like a family Xmas with others in different cultures and towns..

When I return I will bring some form of air conditioning (Dyson type). No hairdryer was a surprise. Take out the old slippery bath a replace it with an Italian non slip shower unit.
Leave simple instructions for all equipment and provide tv in English.
Other than these moans, it was the perfect home from home for us and our little dog. The quality of the equipment was good and the bed was first class!

The perfect historic well preserved small town: good size for walking around and getting familiar with everything, good and interesting museum and local businesses, picturesque corners everywhere and an extraordinary history of its own. Besides all these virtues, it is a good departing point for several good short excursions to nice surroundings.

Beautiful little town with all the spa experience if that's your thing but also lots to see and do locally if you it's not. There are enough shops and food options and lively places if you're looking for a drink. There are also quiet streets to wonder down and paths out of town for longer walks and cycling. Interesting historic towns nearby and about an hour from Bayonne-Biarritz-Anglet and the Basque coast if you want some seaside fun. Pau is also an hour away and well worth a visit for a compact city experience. You're also near the Spanish border and the wonders of Navarra and Gipuzkoa....

This was our fourth visit to Salies-de-Bearn, a small salt town and spa resort, with delightful old buildings and picturesque looks; with its fountain, pretty flowered streets and old houses on stilts by the Saleys.
This really is a charming destination to explore and enjoy a relaxing time. The Salt Museum, located in the heart of the old town in a 17th century house, which is dedicated to the history of Salies-de-Béarn and its eventful history tied to the presence of salt in its groundwater. Then you have the spa quarter, with its thermal baths in the Moorish style, its Belle Époque buildings, the casino and its public garden with a bandstand.
It is easy to get around Salies-de-Bearn, waking the quaint cobbled streets, with very little traffic.
There are also some great places to eat and drink, a variety of tapas bars and and traditional French dishes.

The apartment where we stayed was just lovely. The owner was very nice and offered us a larger apartment compared to the one we had reserved and paid for, for which we were very grateful. The apartment was beautifully decorated, it has everything needed for a comfortable stay, kitchen and dining area, good beds for a good night sleep. Also Salies de Bearn is a jewel of a village, and the apartment is in the very center of the town with everything close by.
I love this little hotel and the town of Salies-de-Béarn. Been here many times in the past and it's just a lovely hotel and location with a well kept 9 hole golf course ta boot. Hotel rooms have been redecorated and upgraded since I was last here. Great value and golf course in really good condition. Not the most challenging 9 holes but a very pretty location with the river running through the middle. Will always look forward to returning to say hello
The hotel was in the town and had lovely grounds where you could enjoy a drink. The rooms are large and comfortable with air conditioning. We had a lovely view over the park.
Restaurant was good and the food and wine lovely. Breakfast was varied with a good choice.
As golfers we enjoyed being at a club, playing 9 holes late in the day. Phillipe, was fantastic making us feel very welcome. The view from our room was pleasant over the golf course. Salies de Bearn is a charming village as are the other villages in the area.
It was a surprise to have a casino right inside the hotel! Super nice to see an old and historic building being still used; it feels like you are inside the Gand Hotel Budapest (the movie). 100% recommend the breakfast - most delicious we ever had in a hotel.
