Quiet location within walking distance of the lake and town. Comfortable room - we slept really well. Great parking. Lovely breakfast, including croissant, baguette, homemade jams, crepes and eggs (layed by their free/range chickens). Fanatastic warm and fruendly hosts. This is a great place to stay, within 30 minutes of the Channell Tunnell.

The apartment was exceptionally clean and very tastefully furnished. The welcome cocktail was a wonderful surprise, and the breakfast basket was lovely. Views of the lake were fabulous, both from the garden and the apartment. To top it all, the bed was extremely comfortable and we had a great night's sleep.

Out of season so I was so was the only diner but still the very attentive staff provided meals at a time to suit me within their schedule. Room was a very good standard. shower excellent. Easy Parking right outside the hotel. Great breakfast. Great place for a stop before or after a channel crossing. In season, I imagine this is a busy place with a caravan site and fun park opposite.

Great location for travellers using Eurotunnel as far enough into France to avoid built up areas (Calais/Dunkirk).
Rural location and short walking distance to small local bar.
Stayed at this hotel many times before and intend to do so in future - our first choice of hotel when beginning or ending a french road trip.

No restaurants in town, however very good restaurant as you drive in the direction of Calais, drive a few kilometres in the direction of Calais and you will see a restaurant on right hand side of road, very good, good price around €60 for two people dining. Tournhem has no real redeeming features in my view, but convenient as a stop over from Calais.
We have stayed here before so I knew what to expect.Conveniently located off ~Junction 2 on the Autoroute to Reims/or Calais it is a great place to stay.
The rooms are medium sized but very comfortable and modern with a nice bathroom.
It has a nice restaurant which is sensibly priced and the food has, in our experience, always been good
The staff are helpful...parking is easy....prices are ok and it is so much better than a more expensive ,soul less, chain hotel in Calais.
This is the second time I used hotel Bal (and won't be the last). I usually stop over when crossing the channel in the evening, stop near Calais and have an early start the following day. It's very easy to do a late night check-in with them, staff is always very helpful. The rooms and bathrooms are perfectly clean, very quiet and comfortable. Perfect location for a late stop in France after crossing the Chunnel as it is just 20 minutes away.
We were traveling in a large van to move our furniture, so long distance from Austria to UK. We needed a simple place to sleep, so went with an economical option. Hotel Bal, was fine, no frills, but fine. Bed was comfy and well made, room very clean. Breakfast in the morning was simple, but again, fine. So, this is a good option if you want a reliable good bed.
A small hotel around 30 minutes from the Eurotunnel terminal and a few minutes from the autoroute. My room was basic, which is what you'd expect for the price, but clean, quiet and entirely adequate. The food in the restaurant was fantastic - well above what you would expect to receive at this price point. The hotel staff were all pleasant and helpful.
We stayed in this hotel on our way to France and on the way back. Both experiences were very good, all clean and in good order. It's in a very quiet village. the owners were very accommodative for a late checkin but everything in the village was closed. We'd stop again there any time we go to France.
My expectations were low, considering this was a hotel/restaurant at a campground, but I was surprised and delighted to find a very clean and modern facility, a sparklingly bright and modern room with independent heat, and a lovely restaurant.
The staff is always accommodating, especially for late check-ins. Great breakfast and peaceful location near Calais. Been using Hotel Bal for a while now when crossing the channel and it is always excellent.
This is a comfy hotel within easy reach of Calaise. Very clean with good restaurant and bar. Large car park behind hotel . Ideal location if breaking your journey from and to the ferries.
The hotel is easily accessible from the motorway, yet in a tranquil setting.
Clean and comfy room, friendly professional staff - happy to return on my next Channel-crossing trip.
