The owner was wonderfull, welcoming, helpful, caring and very knowledgeable about anything in Corsica. Our diner was very nice and we can’t recommend the home made Myrtle strongly enough. The location is spectacular surrounded by the highest mountain in Corsica.

Big room with stunning view of the mountains. Delicious food. This station hotel is modern and comfortable but equally it felt like stepping back in time with polished wooden floors and lots of original features. It was lovely to watch the trains go through. It is on the backpacker route which gave it an informal comfy atmosphere. Great location for walking. The hosts were friendly and welcoming. Our two night stay up in the mountains felt like a special experience.

The region being mountainous can make travel by car long and windy this needs to be accounted for when planning days out .
We found the train easy to use although a fairly infrequent timetable. This is a great way to view the area.
Walking in this region is quite strenuous but the spectacular views make it worthwhile. We were able to join various points of the GR20 during our stay. Highly recommend walking poles in your kit.
The town of Corte has a citadel and museum which is well worth a visit.
We had a delicious meal and wonderful service at La Fontana restaurant which offers a selection of local cuisine and also vegetarian.
The beach we visited was about 3/4 hour away called Moorea Love you. This is a small smooth shingle beach with some larger rocks for shade. We enjoyed snorkelling here. We noticed a sandy beach nearby also but didn’t visit. Plenty of free available parking each time we visited.
Ajaccio has big shops etc but avoid at peak times for traffic.
We loved Hotel U Campanile and everything went okay! Perfect little hotel in the most pitouresque town. The hotel is by the road but its super calm and quiet. It is also a restaurant, and a really good one! We had dinner there and the food was awesome.
Really enjoyed my stay at U Campanile. The proprietor is “tres gentille” and always checking on the comfort of his guests. Very good restaurant, great breakfast —- wonderful, classic country hotel.
The hotel and its terrace are very nice, the view on the mountains stunning, the food delicious and the host super friendly. Great experience overall! We stayed two nights and would do so again.
