I would highly recommend this place to stay, and I will 110% be staying again!!
Cleanliness of the room, SPOTLESS! You would think it had just been renovated!
Considering it's a pub below, you wouldn't know.
Comfortable, big bed.
No shops nearby, but it didn't bother me as I had been walking all day, but had a car, so it wouldn't have been a problem to pop out if needed.

Great location being right in the Wirksworth.
We stayed in the suite which was a large room with lots of character. The most comfortable bed I've slept in (forgot to found out the mattress brand as I want one 🙄).
Staff were great and food was better than expected for a pub. I can highly recommend the mushroom and salmon linguini.

Belper is a lively place. Full of industrial history and lots of community stuff going on. Some good bus connections and a railway station too. Plenty of place to shop, eat, drink. Maybe not too many places to stay so worth a browse while planning a visit.

Belper is a large town with a good range of shops and cafes.
Belper is a large town with a good range of shops and cafes. It is also served by a train station, with regular trains to Matlock, Nottingham, Derby etc. The River Derwent runs through Belper and there are river walks as well as a river garden, with a cafe and boating facilities. Belper is within easy reach of a lot of other very scenic places in Derbyshire, and as such is highly recommended as a base from which to explore.

Belper is a fine place to visit. The town - a World Heritage site - has a fascinating and well-preserved industrial history. We enjoy walking and there are plenty of enjoyable walks in the countryside around Belper and, for anyone who fancies traveling further afield, the Peak District National Park is just a short car, bus or train ride away. A lovely Derbyshire town near the Peak Dustrict. Plenty of attractions, towns & villages to visit, such as Buxton & Bakewell. Also National Trust properties nearby. Plenty of restaurants/pubs to choose from. The best one we had a meal in was The Hanging Gate.

Great market town with a comprehensive list of facilities and local shops. Good travel connections as on the A6 and has a bus and rail station. Worth a visit as a day out, or as a hub to visit further afield within Derbyshire. Lots of different eateries, we had dinner in The Devonshire which was tasty and to a high standard. Lots of pubs to suit all tastes, would definitely visit again. Best to avoid Mondays as some shops and cafes are closed due to opening on a Sunday.

My parents came back from their mini break, wanting to go back for a longer stay. Never have I heard my parents speak so highly of a hotel. From the moment they arrived to when they left they felt as though they'd stayed at a friend's. The bedroom was relaxing and beautifully decorated. The breakfast was delicious. Sharon was amazing and communicated very efficiently. My mum left her phone charger. Not a problem, it was posted back.
