My room had been recently refurbished. I was extremely happy with it for the class of hotel and price and with a good breakfast included. It was handy for the beach, Shanklin Old Town , good restaurants and buses. The staff were exceptional, not only friendly but helpful above and beyond expected, managing and helping me resolve problems not of their making. The room was absolutely gorgeous, and very comfy with a lovely view. I spent a lot of time in the Veteran bar downstairs too and all of the staff and regulars were incredibly friendly! I basically got adopted by the lot of them. I was over for my friends wedding and everyone remembered that and asked how it went. I was only there for a week but it honestly felt like I'd known everyone for years, and I had a great time whether I was having a drink with people or just sitting quietly doing a crossword at the bar. If you're looking for somewhere to stay in ryde I absolutely reccomend the veteran, even if you don't want to visit the bar (which you should!) the room is incredible for the price! I also don't know why booking.com decided I'm from Cambodia, but I was visiting from Ireland!
