The views from the conservatory where we had breakfast were stunning and quite compensated for the location on the edge of town. Anne our host was very welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was generous with an array of fresh fruit as well as a cooked breakfast and croissants.

Location was perfect for a wedding we were attending at Waveny House Hotel. Breakfast was not great. Both days the food was not really hot enough. However, we had dinner on our first night and that food was excellent! The room had a variety of hot drinks plus bottled water & biscuits, which was good.

Really hospitable place, we arrived late and were kindly met by lights on and door unlocked so didn’t have to rummage for keys in the dark. Milk and cake were very welcome too. We were ideally located for helping to prepare for a family wedding and the Garden’s Rest provided the space we wanted. Recommend Loddon for supplies including a couple of suitable spots for breakfast - we found Rosy Lee’s really friendly.

Bungay is a lovely little town and has lots of character.
Bungay is a lovely little town and has lots of character. One of the nicest delicatessens can be found in Bunday: Earsham Street Delicatessen. I picked up some great products there for Christmas and a few gifts for friends too.

My favourite places were the cafe attached to the castle, the fruit shop and florist across the road from The Castle Inn and the friendliness of the locals. We dined at The Fleece Restaurant. It was very easy to find our way around Bungay but we travelled far and wide during our short stay.

Smashing little place. Bit of a time warp. Very quiet but some nice little independent shops and some nice looking pubs which i didn't get chance to try....very picturesque river walks. Will return!

The hotel is well located, in a pretty town full of independent shops. Coast is reachable and beaches in this area are great, there are parks and nature reserves nearby. We walked around the town peering into shop windows and taking photographs of the brightly coloured houses.peter - 10Scored 10

Bungay is a pleasant town, with an array of shops. Its quaint feel is charming and nostalgic. If your wanting a quiet place to visit then this is ideal. There are resturants and a few pubs. I highly recommend the Three Cooks which is dilicous and good value for the money.janiceUnited Kingdom

Friendly and helpful owner made check in easy to organise. The apartment had everything we needed for our stay and James had kindly left milk, juice, tea / coffee & fruit. No parking at the flat, but had no problem finding free overnight on street parking within a few minutes walk. Also car parks nearby for a small fee if a longer stay needed. I am so sad the current managers are leaving due to the landlord being greedy and the cost of wages rising. The managers have run The Castle Inn for over 14 years, and I am very glad to have stayed there before they left. The food menu was so phenomenal, and I am so glad we all had lunch there with them.
