This was an absolute gem of a find. The people were so helpful when I arrived at the end of an 18 mile walk, tired and hungry.
We were there on a Sunday and it was raining pretty heavily.
We were there on a Sunday and it was raining pretty heavily. Only a couple of places were open. Luckily we got into YFan earlier and had a lovely rest and a tea while waiting for our room thanks to the hosts. They made our stay more pleasurable.

For business and just an overnight stay, we didn't spend a great deal of time exploring.
I would definitely revisit though.
Roads are clearly marked and there is lots of car parks or on street parking depending on the length of your stay. Quite hilly in some areas so worth driving around for 5 minutes to find somewhere more suitable if needed.
Morrisons has a large car park limited to 3 hours.
We visited the Courthouse for an evening meal and would highly recommend this pub. It's just lovely!
Plenty of seating both inside and outside, with a view of the castle.
Food and drink was good and the staff were polite and friendly.
We also visited the Piccadilly for a game of pool. A quieter pub (Tuesday) but both locals and staff friendly.

We always enjoy Caerphilly and found Ty Castell an excellent place for our needs. Steve was a great host, friendly & very helpful. We walked wherever we went & had no problems with that. Only a 2 night stay this time so we ate at Wetherspoons & Red Kite both quite reasonably priced & good food.

The Castle is huge and really interesting especially when there is an event going on - people all dressed in period costumes doing what they would have been doing back in the period they are representing. Lovely Italian restaurant overlooking the Castle.
The property was centrally located with excellent views of Caerphilly castle right across the road. The apartment was delightful; bright, airy, clean and fully equipped. There was tea, coffee, bread and milk left for us which was a lovely touch. I’d highly recommend this place and would definitely stay here again. There is also an overnight security guard who was so lovely and accommodating.
Great location .Local amenities within walking distance and a number of Take always including an award winning fish and chip shop
Pleasant walks from the house including a rive walk and a mountain walk
Good base for travelling to local centres of attraction such as Caerphilly Castle (largest in Wales) and train station with free parking for travel to Cardiff
Very nice stay in this quiet, neat, clean and tidy place.
Very good breakfast, spacious room and most important very warm friendly reception from Steve.
15 minutes from Cardiff center, walking distance from the wonderful Caerphilly Castle.
It will become our regular "pied à terre" when we visit Cardiff (every two or three years for a very long time now!)
Fantastic location, with sufficient (free) parking available. Not only close to Caerphilly center and castle, but also a great location to explore the south of Wales and Brecon Beacons.
Information provided before arrival was clear, apartment easy to find and access.
The apartment is of a decent size, it's clean and with all the facilities you need.
This is a little piece of heaven. The view was stunning, the facilities were excellent and the hosts were brilliant. I cannot fault the experience, so much so we booked to stay an extra whilst we were there because we just didn't want to leave such a glorious location. I really recommend staying here, we cannot wait to go back.
Our stay here was a 30 minute alternate to the higher prices in Cardiff. We were a 10 minute walk to the train station. Steve was very accommodating with parking and early check in. We arrived early and took in The Little Cheese Festival in Caerphilly. We enjoyed a great breakfast on the first morning.
A beautiful house, extremely comfortable, a great breakfast and the most delightful hosts who went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Walking distance from the centre of Caerphilly and Castle plus a couple of decent restaurants.
the location is excellent, and the nature reserve at the back of the property is beautiful, there are easy links to get to Cardiff, Swansea, and barry island. we were also able to get to Caerphilly and Newport very easily
The wide range of complimentaries. I did not expect travel toothbrushes and toothpaste per person. Soft bedding and comfortable beds. Quiet location which is a 5 minute to the Caerphilly train station if that.
For an out of the way country hotel/pub the food was excellent and with an extensive dinner menu.
Breakfast was excellent.
Accommodation was basic but good value for money.
