Location was amazing, right opposite the beach and in the middle of the Main Street of Arnside. Staff were lovely. Breakfast was nice, fair few options and restaurant was lovely to have breakfast in.

Silverdale is a pretty village and the hotel is obviously its social centre. The room was recently renovated with a nice view towards Morecambe Bay. It’s a short walk down to the rocky shore with dramatic views of sea and sand. The food was home cooked, plentiful and tasty. We had a very good pork and leek pie, smoked mackerel and potted shrimp.
The Cumbria Grand is set in 25 acres of gardens and woodlands, and is only a 15-minute drive from Lake Windermere. It offers free Wi-Fi in public areas.

Staff were pleasant and polite. Comfortable bed. Adequate parking.
When we asked for blankets they were provided within minutes, plus we were offered a room heater (oil-filled radiator) which made the room much more comfortable.
